1) The beginning of all sentences are capitalized, as well as "I". Read a book, the pronoun "I" is always capitalized.

2) Use punctuation. End your sentences with a period or what ever is appropriate for the sentence.

3) Try to write more than one line, I don't need to read paragraphs, but repeated one liners are very annoying.

4) In some way make a difference between actions and speaking. I personally prefer the novel style. For example...
I walk up to you and smile, "Hello my name is Estrella, and welcome to the guild."
But other formats are fine.

5) Try to spell decently, if you have trouble, please look into the newest version of firefox. It comes with a spell check (I use it and love it!)

6) All OOC chatter must be in some sort of brackets, for example ((I like stuff)). I personally hate it when people switch back and forth.

If you fail to follow two or more of these rules, you will be warned twice. After that I will throw you out. There's no excuses really, just put in a bit of effort into yours posts.

If I may add something, Kitara, Novel style literate RP is usually written in the past-tense, and you usually would not use the pronoun 'I'. Instead, it's more appropriate to use your character's name. Just to better acknowledge that your character is speaking, and not yourself. Just to avoid confusion with the OOC posting and stuff.

Example: Yumi walked over to Kitara, hesitantly extending a small hand. "Hello, I'm Yumi."

I hope that helped a little. 3nodding

There are many ways to do it..
I usually use the third-person sentense also, but I refer to my character as "He"

EX: He walks up to her.

And to quote my character I put the line between "

"Such as this."

Yes thank you both, and I think I'm going to attempt to tackle a hard concept for some to understand in roleplaying.

If you write sentence after sentence in a post, but has nothing to do with anything, that is almost just as bad as one liners, and almost as annoying.

For example...
Walks in and look around.
Scratches her head and looks at the slaves.
Looks bored.

No one is going to reply to you 90% of the time, why? Because what are we suppose to reply to? This is especially true of the Free persons when they rp, it is your job to be the dominant ones in rp, slaves can't always get up and run to you when you walk in the room. Be dominant! Seek them out for yourself.
And slaves, respond back to the best of your ability! Don't leave them hanging.

So for example...
Estrella walks into the room, her eyes gleaming with delight for the joy of the hunt as she stops to look into each cage carefully. Finally she stops in front of one with a small boy inside, kneels down and grins.
"Well good evening."

And then the slave will reply in their next post and so a good rp will start! I'd also like to point out the flow in this post is much better than the one before. Comas are good, and there is nothing more annoying to a literate rper than someone who just bolts off sentence after sentence with no adverbs or adjectives, rhyme or reason. Think of a few things you want to do, connect them, and leave openings for someone to reply to you.

Also remember that you'll have to read a few posts behind in order to find out exactly what who is doing, jumping in the middle can sometimes be quite hard so try not to!

I know I'm new and everything but one thing I noticed in this place is that people tend to be fond of quoting other peoples posts. Perhaps you should thinking of banning that unless the quote is a good two pages back.

The reason for this si that I've always found the more literate a guild is the less this happens because people need to write more meaningful posts to get the attention of others.

Besides Quote's look sloppy.

Again just an idea and I'm throwing it out there.
