Probably one of my all time favorite webcomics is Girl Genius

Basically it's about a girl, Agatha, who lives in a world of gadgets and Sparks.

Now for some brief excerpts from the page itself:

Quote:
Girl Genius is an ongoing "gaslamp fantasy" story by Phil and Kaja Foglio. It started out in 2000 as a periodical comic book, which is collected into three (and counting) larger volumes. Girl Genius follows the career of Agatha Heterodyne—a hapless student at Transylvania Polygnostic University who discovers that she has more going for her than she thought.

It has a bit of an archive, updates Mon, Wed, Fri and is in two parts (at the moment). The two parts are GG from the beginning and GG Advanced. There is a gap between them that should be filled by August 2007 (so says the site).

I've tried to get into it, but it's never really worked, for some reason. I like the idea behind it, and some of the stuff I've seen is quite good. I think it's just that I don't like Phil Foglio's art.

Exactly. I've tried getting into it quite a few times. Maybe I just need to try harder.

See, that's kind of how it was for me at first, but then I found it again and BAM! I can't wait for updates! Granted, the first time I found Girl Genius was prior to it's availability on the web, so that was a turn off.

A lot of the webcomics I start reading are during the early hours of the morning when I can't fall asleep and I end up speeding through the archives. It's really rather ridiculous.

But the second time I read GG I got hooked.

I was happy to discover that my local library has several of the printed issues of GG. I'm not sure if they have all of them up to the most recent release or not, but it's still a happy thing in my eyes. Maybe I'll even get my little brother to read 'em. The last time we were at the library I had him take out the first to volumes of Fables. 3nodding

Yeah, I think the art took a little getting used to for me, too. But it's a pretty good comic. The Jägers are my favorite. ^-^ Or, at least the three main ones, Oggie, Dimo, and Maxim. They make me laugh to no end.

I just started reading GG a few days ago. Read the entire archives in two days. The art is interesting but I like it, though the eyes still tend to bother me. Otherwise, it's amazing stuff.

Really? Only two days? Bugger, it seemed like it took me forever when I was catching up with the most recent strip, but when I first started reading, they were updating from the very beginning and also from the most recent, so there was a huge gap that I was waiting to be filled.
