this is just a fun little thing my friend's mom showed me. easy to do, solid evidence. and no chanting or candles required.
step 1: take a paper clip and tie a short piece of string(4-8") to it.
step 2: hold the end of the string up so that the paperclip is hanging freely. If you need to, you can support your elbow on a table or other solid surface.
step 3: Encourage the paperclip verbally, without touching it. you may want to do this when nobody else is around, because chances are you'll look like an idiot. Anyways, tell the paper clip how wonderful and amazing and talented is in your most falsely cheery voice.
if all goes according to plan, the paper clip should start swinging in wide circles in an almost happy manner..
step 4: now, be mean to the paper clip. tell it how awful it is. that it is a failure at life. that it should kill itself. use the voice you'd use when your kid breaks a window with a baseball bat.
if all continues to go according to plan, the paperclip will stop swinging.
now you say: "this is silly. It's just my subconcious making my hand move the paperclip."
very well then, hang it from something. Sandwiching the end of the string between a book and the edge of a desk works well. and try it again.
still think its just your subconcious?
if you do, that's great because that really is all that it is. the mind can do amazing things.
lemme know what you think when you do this heart

I haven't tried it attached to a stationary object yet. I'd have to make some kind of rigging for it for it to work right. xd

Well organized- if it moves when attached to something stationary, it HAS to be working. Awesome.

I feel pretty pathetic when considering if I want to hurt the paperclip's feelings or not. ... Haven't tried it yet.

As I write this I'm trying the technique with a pencel at the end of a headphone wire, paperclips and string can go light themselves on fire stare (paper clip watching: burning_eyes Me: twisted )
k, here it goes: No effect what-so-ever. I'll try again some other time.

Nothin' happened either time, really, except that I felt silly.
I've had a little luck with pendulums, but this did nothing at all.
I used my dogtag at the end of a string.

I do believe in psi, but my psychologist once told about this experiment as a example for his counter-statement when I was telling him about psi and all of that. He even brought a piece of thread and put a paperclip on it for me to try. It moved, but he told that my hands where moving, so creating currents in the air, while I was doing that. I was completely unaware of my hands moving. The idea is that if the conscious part of the mind really wants something the subconscious will affect what it can to get the results you want.
