Say NO!!

Nationwide Protests This Thursday

TIME FOR A SURGE OF OPPOSITION TO BUSH'S WAR ESCALATION

Hard to believe, but in a primetime televised speech on Wednesday evening, President
Bush will announce his plans to send more troops into Iraq. We don't know for sure,
but he could be planning to send at least 20,000 more troops, and the numbers could
be even higher.

Whatever the numbers are, the Bush administration is once again moving in the wrong
direction. In November the voters elected a new Congress with a clear mandate: End
this war! The people of this country want the war to end and we do NOT want more
troops sent to Iraq.

We need to act quickly and in large numbers to oppose this escalation.

United for Peace and Justice has joined an effort initiated by Win Without War and
True Majority to encourage as many local actions in communities all around the
country this Thursday, the day after Bush announces his plans. We need to be visible
and vocal. Our message must be heard by the White House and by the Congress. NO more
troops, end this war now!

The newest surge of troops going in could be the signal of the beginning of the withrawl from Iraq. Honestly, I'm not sure if the US knows what they've gotten into. The moment they pull out all their soldiers is the moment a civil war will erupt within Iraq.

The whole deal is just a mess. confused

What the hell. I thought the Bush administration was making a point to get troops OUT of Iraq not too long ago? But now, he's basically trying to quadruple the size of the Marine Corps, and get rid of the limit of terms someone can serve on duty. I have cousins, relatives, and friends in the forces, and I don't like what I see. But then again, I guess I never really did with this guy.

Bush really needs somebody new to write his speeches considering they've all been the same in the past, how many years?
Same story as last year, just worded differently.

Not even him ******** them up. For the time he's been in office, every single one of his speeches has been exactly the same. There's only so many times you can state the fact that " The United States is very dependant on foreign oil" and " I think it would be best to send more troops."
Come on, you know that his stuttering and long pauses when he talks is dead sexy.

lol.

Anyway, I think that if people want to go to Iraq, let them. They're signing up for the military knowing FULL WELL what they're getting themselves into.

I almost went into the Marine Corps this summer, but got denied because I had an asthma attack shortly before I was supposed to leave for bootcamp.

Ok, that's pretty lame. Just because we have troops to send, doesn't mean we should send them. I mean, what if sometime we actually need them? I'm basically sure that when people sign up, they're thinking they're going to be fighting for their own country...not hauling some other country's a**.
Besides, this war has been going on for years. You think the people who signed up back then knew all this s**t would be going on now? They don't know full well. A lot of them are stupid high schoolers who have nothing better to do with their lives. It's not their fault they were born ********/> I'm sorry, but these are people we're talking about. They shouldn't just be shipped off like despensable toys because our President is a moron and doesn't know how to finish something he started for basically no reason in the first place. I mean, we're talking about defense here...not offense. Basically, by sending in more troops, Bush is just escalating the war. We're becoming the terrorists here.

Not finishing what he started? Last time I checked, he's doing a hell of a lot more to finish the war than all those ******** hippies with their "GET OUT NOW" bullshit. If we suddenly took all the troops out now, there would be a lot of deaths on our side. I know that's not what you're saying, but I figure I should put it out there anyway...

And those kids that signed up because they had nothing to do, if they didn't expect that at ANY time they could be going to war, they're ******** idiots. And ANYONE can make something of themselves, whether they were born "********" or not. All you have to do is not be a total retard.

And yeah, these are people, people that made choices. They made the choice to sign up, if they don't like it, they can retire after their first 2-4 years. But they signed up to fight, and that's what they're doing.

I say don't try and make a decision for them. Because they obviously made theirs, and they're going through with it.

All I'm saying is that just because the president wants to send more troops, doesn't mean he should, and it doesn't mean it's a good idea. He started it, so he should try and find an end to it. THe hippies, as you say, didn't start the war, and I've seen plenty doing as much as their able to do to stop it. It's not their job to do what's best for the country's interest. The president is commander and chief for a reason, and he should be looking after the well being of his own people over other countries, and adhering to what the people want. Democracy is, after all, by the people for the people.
Any way, I'm not talking about just going to war here, I'm talking about doing duty, or whatever. Most of the people who sign up for the military generally do so to protect their country, not because they want to fight and kill and be toy soldiers at the beck and call of some verbally challenged president. They shouldn't just be thrown into a war because some country will errupt if they're not. Iraq isn't our problem and they're not the only people suffering. Besides, we are way past defending ourselves any more. Like I said, this isn't even about defense any more. It hardly was about that in the first place. God knows what happened to Osama, the supposedly real reason all this s**t happened, but obviously, he's of no concern....even though he was the one behind 9/11...but ******** that, let's throw more troops into Iraq. Yeah, because they have "weapons of mass destruction." Better get in there and do something....and when we're done doing something...let's stay there even longer...and do more stuff...
Seriously, if America is such a ******** liberator, maybe they should consider creating a Department of Offense. I'm sure Bush would really like that, plus, then he really would have toy soldiers to throw into whatever country he saw fit.
Any way, obviously I could go on about this forever...
