I desperately want to be in a band... it's gotten to the point where it's pretty much all I can think about sweatdrop . I was for a little while with my friend josh, amanda, and jessi, but that didnt really work because 1. my tastes in music are very different from theirs 2. amanda has views, but would want to do more than just have a message and im not sure if shes as well... ubcessed with her ideals as I am with mine 3. Jessi again has views... but her tastes are VERY different from mine, and im not sure exactly how deep her views go, so im not gonna anything about that 4. josh doesnt really agree with me on very many things. hes a close friend of mine, but we arent friends because we agree, im just his friend because hes cool and funny and stuff... the normal reasons you become friends with someone.... 5. the stuff that I would want the songs to be about might even offend josh 6. amanda really likes ska... and im not a huge fan, and now shes in a ska band. I wanna be lead singer, or atleast a singer... I like to sing... people tell me I have a good voice, and ive been into music all my life and both my dad and my grandpa had record contracts. my current plan is just go to a hell of alot of shows for bands that I like. that way I can meet people who have similar taste for the type of sound I like. then I could maybe get to know the person alot better, and possibly make a band with em. thats really my only idea so far... but if anybody happens to know about any punk shows coming to georgia would you please let me know? btw the reason I made this a sticky thread is because anyone else who wanted to know how to get into a band could post their own things here too

I'm a solo rap artist on MySpace and am in a two man band with the other guy who just does what I tell him to and we record it.

i record me own stuff on a 4-Track Recorder, but that doesen't really count.

I need to practice the harp more so that I can get decent enough to join in a punk-esque band. =D
I'd need to get a harp with an electrical pick up too, I suppose.

i was lead singer for a few months with some friends. N.V.R. we called ourself. we did mostly covers of classic punksongs, but a few originals. basically just had fun. we werent bad, when we were sober. but... our drummer disappeared and i think my other buddy is still in jail. i was pretty ******** up at the time too so.. yeah.
ive toured with a couple other bands, i'd like to get back into it but.. i like doing clean honest work as well, not to say touring is dishonest, i just like to get my hands dirty.

D: well, i really want to be in a band, i just have trouble because i dont really know anyone that i have enough in common with to make a band, and even if i did i doubt theyd agree with me on enough things, and i doubt theyd be looking for the same kind of sound as me. id want my band to be loud and fast, but have the kind of tone to it that would actually make you feel something. like alot of punk has the message, but if it doesnt have the right tone then im just kind of listening to the words, but not really feeling them. if it has that kind of emotional tone to it, and the message, thats the kind that gives you goosebumps. thats what i want my sound to do. provoke some emotion. thats why i REALLY like strike anywhere. they do that with alot of their stuff
