I was recently e-raped by a newer member of Gaia. An ignorant one. D: The all dreaded n00b. Now, chat speak is fine. It gets on my nerves sometimes, but as long as I can read it. It's just fine with me. Asking for donations? That's alright too. As long as they do it in a polite way, or seem fairly clueless. I'll maby throw 500 gold or so their way. And if they demand it, i'll still be polite. Try to talk it through with them, it tends to make their lives on Gaia much better.
But the ones that irk me are the ones that think they're better than everyone. They know everything, and we know nothing. Dx I admit, i've got some pride isues. So when someone tells me i'm wrong in a harsh way, and I know for a fact i'm right, I get pissed. xD
-Basic overview of my thought on n00bs-
Now onto a different isue. The whole peasant cloths/starter clothes hubub. Frankly, our starter clothes were BETTER than theirs are now. The starter clothes SUCK. And with all of that nips stuff that went on, newbies are looked down upon if they're seen in starter clothes, and given much more respect if in peasant clothes. So what's the use in continuing this renegade against the new people? It's worked, it's over. D: Just my thought.
---------------------------------------------------------
And onto why I made this thread. Recently I noticed an old friend of mine had joined Gaia. I thought it was pretty cool so I asked him for his username so I could donate 10k or so to him. His reply "Shut up, i'll never give it to you."
So I laughed it off and some time later he brought up how you could dress exactly like Inyuyasha. I said yeah, pretty much. And he said "NO! EXACTLY! I saw a guy in towns with a sword that had a poof on it."
So I thought for a while, not recalling a sword with a poof on it. And told him so. He replied with "Oh my god you're gay! What do you think i'm friggen retarted or something?! I saw that sword!" So I said it was a mis-understanding and he continued with his strange insults.
That's when I realised this kid was going to be a n00b. And a bad one, at that. D:
So, Discussion:
Have you ever met someone in real life that joined Gaia, only to realise they're going to be a bad Gaian?
How did you react?
Why don't people give the newbs chanced now? I notice lots of people just being dicks toward them. Give 'em a chance. D:
