The guild has enough gold to make a subforum, and since it's your donations, it's your decision as to what subforum has priority.
My opinion is that we should have an off-topic subforum first, that has the same rules as the chatterbox- practically none, so that people will post more and have an opportunity to discuss other topics.
Post here what type of subforum you'd like to see first. Also, if you think of a good idea for another subforum, but maybe not the top priority, also post it here.
Voting will end in two weeks, on the 27th, or when I've heard from everyone in the guild.
(This is something I would have made an announcement about through PM's, but the friends@gaia option is down.)
Voting is now over, thank you to everyone who participated. The first subforum will be about acting. The forum should be up within the next few days. This thread will remain open for other ideas for future subforums, but has been 'demoted' to sticky status.

I agree that a forum like the chatterbox is a good idea

I think a random forum would be good.

I don't know about a chatterbox subforum. Perhaps one more like the book forum would be better?
Yes, I sound snotty, but I was hoping in a Shakespeare guild we'd be above spamming.

I'm not personally in favor of a chatterbox-ish forum, but since I lurk more than I post, perhaps my opinion isn't as useful. wink I'd like to see a subforum for sonnets or tragedies or something like that.

I did think of subforums for sonnets and tragedies, but I'm afraid that at this point that people would forget about them and just post in the main forum. I've seen that happen a lot in other guilds, and I just don't think there's enough discussion to justify that yet. When we grow to over two hundred members, we will have subforums for sonnets and tragedies, because we'll need them. Right now, honestly, I'm just trying to get people to post, and spend more time in this guild than they do now.
I suppose I shouldn't have used the term 'chatterbox', but there might be random crud going on there. Pretty much an 'off-topic' subforum. Since there were a few things that are Shakespeare-related I wanted to mention, but are too random to mention in the main forum. (One is a Shakespearian insult generator that I found amusing) But I do like the books subforum idea. A subform about movie adaptations of the plays could be cool too. Or an acting subforum. I'm just tossing ideas out for people.

I support the idea of an acting forum, for any here who love to act Shakespeare... (like me). A place to discuss techniques, ideas, and exploits would be nice...

An acting sub-forum would be wounderful! As an aspiring Shakespearean actress, I think it would be very useful to talk to other Shakespearean actors.

ACTING SUBFORUM PLEASE!
lol I'm an actress, and I loooove the different characters one can preform, so maybe a preformance and theatre thread then for techies, stage and costume designs and acting as well, also different interpretations of preformances.

Acting subforum it is. Though the deciding vote came in after the deadline, (and had a hanging chad lol ) I'm a fair bit better at counting than everyone else in my state. It was close with an off-topic subforum, so that one is next on the agenda.
