I know- I've whined about the FMA OVAs more times than I can count, usually to a nearby tree or bench, which gets some very odd looks. So, understandably, I was shocked when I find out that they've been released already.
In Issue #31 of Anime Insider, (this would be around the time FMA volume six was released) in the section Disc Drive, it mentions something about the "last FMA anime ever (maybe)." This includes a short called "National Alchemist Corps vs. The Seven Great Homunculi" which, oddly enough, is this OVA. It also mentions "two other shorts"... possibly the other two OVAs? It's called The Fullmetal Alchemist Premium Collection and was released by Aniplex. Maybe I'm just a loser who is obsessing over the past, but this seems kind of odd to me, especially because there was only a hint of the movie's existence then.

Considering that the State vs. Homunculi OVA was one for the first FMA animations ever made (it was for a FMA ride that operated at Universal Studios in Japan in 2004/2005) it's pretty easy to believe that one is older than the movie.
Also, there are three other OVAs aside from that one, not two; Live Action, Kids and Chibi Party.

Whoops.. sorry.
sweatdrop I always forget about the Live Action OVA because it doesn't get as much publicity.
(That and the video quailty of the one time I saw it was horrid, and it had no sound. stare )

Personally I have the Premium Collection DVD.It includes all four OVAs there.But it's not the Japanese orginal realese.It's from Hong Kong .

Rekki Elric Personally I have the Premium Collection DVD.It includes all four OVAs there.But it's not the Japanese orginal realese.It's from Hong Kong . So it would be with the Chinese dub, then (do they even have a Chinese dub?), or was it just imported?
Anyone else but me notice the very, very slight and clean fanservice there? Not just Ed and Roy talking to you, but...Roy gives you a ring, and Ed winks at you while saying "I'll see you soon" which can be taken another way... ninja Certain thoughts are prayers. And now, a later issue of AI (I forget which one) says that they have no idea when the FMA Premium Collection is coming out, despite the fact they said it was out in a previous issue. Ma ke up your friggin' MIND, dammit.
