((>.> We've entered a poetry unit in English, and we had to write freeform. I despise freeform poetry. So this result.
You are allowed to flame or whatever. I don't care. This took me about ten minutes on the morning it was due. >__> I just figured I should submit it anyways. I'll submit the other poems we have to write too, just for the heck of it.
Anyways, enjoy. I s'pose.))
Poetry is not my thing. No, seriously. I don't even like it.
Its not that I can't write it. I mean, technically, anyone can.
Its not that I'm horrid at it. I've won awards, as strange as that may seem.
Its not that I've had horrible mental scars because of it. Come on. "Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me" Familiar?
Its just that I don't like it.
Books are better (though I don't read those, either) They require preparation, patience, and persistance.
But mostly talent.
Which, I suppose, poetry does too.
At least, good poetry.
As rare as that is.
Really.
Freeverse is the worst. (It almost rhymed!)
Here's an example:
Blue
Toad
Sky
Is it poetry?
Sure.
Is it good?
No.
Then again, this is freeverse. Then again, freeverse is easy to spit out. Then again, that's probably why people write freeverse so much.
But, come on.
We all need to be hypocritical at some point.
Its only human.

Haha! I like that whee It was actually pretty funny, especially how it's basically describing me with poetry.
Then it's also pretty funny because the last few lines could be taken as something deep-ish, ironically after the random rant in the beginning, making it seem more poem-like.
What did the teacher say? razz

That was the point. By randomly making a new line, it looks like I was trying to be deep and stuff(which I wasn't.) It was somewhat lost in the reading, though. *sigh*
My teacher liked it, mostly because everyone else's kind of began to meld together. That, and I was probably one of the few people who actually bothered to do something that wasn't a rip-off of Langston Hughes's "Theme for English B." It also helps that I get straight As in the class, and that I write good essays and stuff.
