I just got back from my worst experience with a piercings studio ever.
To sum up the terrible experience in to as few words as possible: The studio was unclean. The people were not helpful. Can people smoke in a tattoo/piercing setting? The studio did not have the jewelry I needed: two 14 gauge 5/8" barbells and three 14 gauge circular barbells. I now have two 1" barbells in my double n****e piercing, which is far too long, and for which I was charged $20. I was then charged $20 for TWO of the circular barbells; I need 3. I came out of the studio vowing to never go there again and to spread the word that the place is absolutely horrible, things which I never do.
So, tell me about your worst experience in a percing studio.

Can't say I've walked into anything that bad. The most I have to complain about is over priced jewelery, and I think now they are more reasonable. lol

Wow..that sucks. I am sorry.
I've only ever went to 2 piercers. One was a friend of my piercer so it wasn't bad.

Well, I didn't get anything pierced when I went there (thank God), and I never will let anyone I know ever go there. I was thinking about getting my lobes done as I was on my way there, but upon entering the studio, I quickly decided against it.

hmm I think my worst experiance was when I got my septum pierced. Not only did the guy get me to do the clamping and he pierce through the cartilage, but he also bodged it, then got angry at me for bleeding like the niagra falls. He offered to re-do it but I decided against it, so luckily I wasn't charged. Later I found out that he, though having piercings himself, is only doing it as a side job and isn't really interested in what he is doing because he sees piercings as self mutilation. It's all healed up now, I have found a good place to get stuff done. They are over priced with jewellry though so I'm getting the jewellry from their provider xd Speaking of which, I have found a nice company online in the UK that sells quality, reasonably priced jewellry of all shapes, types, sizes and materials. I recommend you guys try them out. I have tried them myself and they are also a provider for one of the top piercing parlours here in my state 3nodding www.coldsteel.co.uk they have a measure and currency convertor on there site aswell for online customers.

Wow! The guy was doing it as a side job even though he sees piercing as self-mutilation? How odd...

domokun My friend took me to a place she apprenticed at, saying it was the best around. She was a close friend so I ignored that I'd heard bad things and gave it a chance. I now know it's the worst place around. The lady was not friendly at all and pierced my navel crooked and too shallow. Worst of all, the piercings rooms are not actually rooms, they are seperated by a curtain and the lady was letting her two toddlers run around the shop palying with paints and throwing a ball around. They actually came into the room when she was peircing me and my friend, continuing to throw the ball around and run all over and the lady did not say a thing to them. Since they were young they also weren't very clean. (e.g. snotting everywhere, etc.) Very unsanitary and unprofessional. Since going there I've heard even more worse stories. The man who works there piercing wasn't even a piercer, he was a tattoo artist until he had a heart attack, (it may have been a stroke, I forget which, but I know it's true, because the mant old me himself while I was there) after which his hand would randomly drop tools, etc. He should NOT be piercing. This man still does people's tongues, etc.

I went to this new place in town, [new 2 years ago] To get my nipples pierced. Now Mine are kind of small, so the piercer told me that he would have to do them free hand. Not knowing much about piercing, I said it was okay. He started on the first one and stopped with the needle half way throuh my n****e, so he could "readjust" his grip. And then sloppily shoved it through the other side. He did the exact same thing to the other. They bled like crazy, which he said was normal. After I gave them time to heal a little, I noticed that they were really crooked. I took them out. At the begining of Jan. I went to a new place, just to check it out, and found this lady that I love. She has been gageing my ears for a few months, but she quit working at D.O. I was so happy to find her. I told her that I was thinking about getting my nipples repierced, and told her my story, and she was appauled. SHe did them for me, and used clamps, they hardly bleed at all, and they are straight and perfect. And that shop will be getting all of my future buisness.

I've seen really clean professional studio's where the people smoke. And my worst experience wasn't even that bad. My friend pierced my lip, (with an actual piercing needle you self-righteous boobs) and I went swimming in the lake and it got infected and hurt soooooo bad that I had to take it out

I went with my friend to get her ear pierced (she was getting an anti-helix) and the chick who was piercing her ear said, "Erm... you wanted a helix, right?" and we were like "WTF, dude!". The chick had given my friend a helix instead >.<

Fortunately, I've never had a bad experience. When I got my tragus' pierced, my piercer was really nice, and explained everything, he was hilarious too so that made it more comfortable for me. When i get something pierced again, I am so going back to him and that shop.
My friend always goes to different places to see if ones are better than others. And unfortunately she went to a gross icky place, she said the guy was nice so she let him pierce her bellybutton but he totally did a hack job. So she's still so mad about it.

My body is really sensetive and has never taken to piercings well.
But this was by far the worst that ever happened ot me when i got pierced... For my 13th birthday my mum let me get an industrial in my ear. Seeing as my mum is cheap she took me to the cheapest tattoo parlor in the city lmao. Now the add said this place was cheap and used medical sterilized equipment. Sounded great... Got there and the guys smoking at the front desk and hes explaining everything. Luckily he stops smoking long enough to shove the insutrial bar through each partof my ear all the while blood is dripping onto my shirt. But the piercing was cheap so my mum was happy. After a couple days it starts ozzing and turning red which all my piercings have done before. But then my ear starts bruising and getting worst. But no, Im not gonna be taken to a doctor and Im not about to take itout because Im stupid lolz. So a couple days later I wind up in the emergency room for a completely unrelated thing. Ive got my hair pulled back and the doctor is like "Jesus what happened to your ear?"
lmao

My worst one is when I got my tongue pierced for the second time! I went to a pro whom charged me $50 and even asked to buy a stud for him for another $10 bucks from a stud shop. Usually, piercers would provide a sterilised stud but he didn't, instead he sterilized it after I bought it. He showed me his autoclave certs and everything and I thought he would have done a good job.He clamped and numbed my tongue, which hurt a little, then he poked the needle through.I could feel the needle go through and it was over.My friend then got her naval pierced and it was also screwed up.The next day,it swelled up,which was normal. It swelled up really bad and it hurt way more than my previous piercing.I was disappointed as my previous piercing was done by a friend for $15 only. After 5 days when the swelling reduced,I realised the piercing was so up front I had speech defects.I couldn't say 'this' and 'three' because the stud was where my front teeth would be when I spoke and also, when I talk, people could hear my stud hit my front teeth.I had to eventually take it out as it was too front.I am very disappointed to know a pro can be so careless.I advise you guys to get the piercer to mark and follow strict procedure before getting a piercing.
