Located at the festival square, the temple towered above the rest of the city. Inside, the temple is very open with enough room to hold a mass crowd. Priests, healers, and seers were always hustling about the temple, performing whatever task needs to be done and providing help to who ever needs it. Numerous doors and entry ways lined the walls of the temple, some leading to meditation rooms, others leading to various chambers. Most doors are left unlocked, open for public use. At night, the many candles in the temple are lit for the nightly ceremony, which Vulcan conducts himself.

Just remember to stay on Vulcan's good side.

One of the doors was locked shut. Within the room sat Vulcan along with five other priests. Each of them sat cross-legged on the floor with a dagger or piece of scrap from Niccea's smithy in front of them. In front of Vulcan also sat Niccea's sword, its flames ever burning bright. All of them stared at their pieces of metal in deep thought. Every once in a while, a priest would pick up thier weapon or piece and try a different technique to catch it on fire and conceal it. So far, no luck. And with countless burn marks on both the floor and the men, frustration levels were running high.

"What are we doing wrong?" One of the priests asked as his dagger, which was on fire, suddenly went out. "How can this be so hard?"

Vulcan made no response. He only looked up at the priest with his cold eyes. The priest sighed and returned back to his dagger. What ARE we doing wrong? Vulcan thought to himself as he looked back down at his dagger.

Niccea puttered around the temple. She really wasn't heading anywhere in particular. She was looking for a safer place to practice concentration.

A priest in flowing red robes briskly walked about the temple's main entry. The soft thudding from his boots interrupted the normal silence as he bustled from one room to another. He held a bundle of scrolls as he entered one room, and only one or two as he exited. All the time, he was mumbling to himself about how he needed to bring softer footwear before coming to the Temple next time. As he fought his way out of a door, hefting armfulls of scrolls and parchments, he tripped on his foot. He fell with a loud clatter, scrolls and parchments littering the entryway. He cursed himself under his breath, standing and quickly recovering all the dropped paper.

A loud bang came from behind the locked room. The door blew off its frame and lay in pieces across the floor. A black cloud of smoke drifted out of the room as a priest in now charred robes stumbled out followed by an enraged Vulcan. "What were you thinking?" he yelled at the poor priest who had tripped over a piece of the door and was now cowarding on the floor from Vulcan's wrath. "You should know better than to place so much energy into such a small object!" Vulcan growled and examined the full extent of the damage, "I want this repaired, do you hear me? I want it to look exactly the way it did when you first walked through that door. Do you hear me?" The priest nodded his head vigerously, scurried to his feet, and began cleaning up.

Vulcan sighed, trying to calm himself. This failed, however, when he heard the loud clattering in the entryway. By the gods what now... he moaned to himself as he briskly walked to where the clattering had come from. Coming across the priest, he sighed again and folded his arms, "And what are YOU doing?"

The young priest froze in fear, noticing he had the attention of the High Priest. This could mean trouble...big trouble.

"Ah...I, uh..." he faltered, trying to sort out his words. "I-I was just...just organizing all the...scrolls and parchments...to comply with my mentor's request. My lesson today was to learn about keeping a...calm disposition while in haste..."

He hung his head low, ashamed. Slowly now, he recovered the remaining scrolls, and one of the last few parchments. 'By the gods, I don't need this. My teacher won't be pleased with my failure...' he thought.

Niccea's ears perked at the bang and she ran hurriedly to Vulcan. "Is every thing alright?"

Vulcan turned to Niccea, "No, everything is not alright. First off, we're struggling with your plan. Secondly, a priest blew up one of the chambers. And finally, we have another priest who seems to be failing his lesson." He sighed deeply and turned back to the young priest. His stone face showed no expression, no anger, no frustration, nothing. In an unusually calm voice, he said to the priest, "I suggest that you hurry back to your mentor, I'm sure he's wondering what's taking you so long. Tell him that I was the one that made you late."

Niccea shook her head with a slight smile. She gave the blown in door an accusing look and began to use her lore to temporarily fix it. She could do nothing for the wood, but she could at least refuse the hinges together. "Bit too much kick eh? Maybe my plan was a dead end. I just wanted to help."

The young priest loked up, slightly shocked at Vulcan's calm tone. As he finished speaking, the unfortunate priest nodded, placing the last of the paper in his arms. He stood up, bowed his thanks, and hurried off to the last room he needed to go to.

Vulcan watched the young priest leave and then turned back to Niccea, "No, there has to be a way, we just haven't come across it yet."

The priest who had blown down the door meekly approached Vulcan, "Lord Vulcan...the dagger..." he held out the dagger in his shaking hands for Vulcan. When Vulcan grabbed the dagger by the hilt, the blade immediately ignited into flames.

"Incredible..." he whispered. He let go of the blade and laid it flat in his hands. As he did, the flame immediately died away. "I think we have the answer, Niccea. However, I don't think the temple can hold up to making a whole crate full of them."

"I figured..." She sighed a heavy sigh. "There is a secret to my blade...as you can tell, my fire lore is....unnatural. It ignites a bit fast, I cant really use it with much skill, and it is black..." She held back her conclusion on the tip on her tongue...She lead Vulcan behind closed doors and explained her secret to him. ((Nope you won't know the secret until later razz ))

Vulcan remained completely silent as Niccea explained her secret to him. Taking in very word she spoke, he took mental notes and would occassionally nod his head.
