Alliance b***h about Shamans being overpowered. A lot. But they have paladins owtf!
Give your thoughts on it. Are they overpowered? Do they need some aspects nerfed? Keep in mind the Shaman "OMG NERF" thing wasn't as large until battlegrounds came out -- this is because Shaman can run, then Ghostwolf with the flag.
However, ghostwolf can be: snared, dispelled, frosted.
Druids travelform however, cannot. So technically, the druid has the advantage, not the Shaman.

No. Alliance are just bitching.
They're a Jack of all trades, so they do just about everything yes. But, they don't excell in anything quite as much as any other class. Mages cast more damaging spells, Warriors tank and melee better, Hunters have better ranged, Priests heal much better. They're only the best at laying down totems and burning mana the most inefficently.
I hardly ever see Shamen flagging, usually it's a warrior or a Druid, closely followed by me casting PW: S, Renew, and dispell like nobody's business. The alliance need to stop whining about challenges, and find good hunters to lay down a freezing trap at the flag.

See, my hunter can kick Shaman a** with a simple viper sting and freezing trap. The only problem is the other Alliance are too freaking stupid to realize this.
Yes Shaman have a slowing trap. Congrats, you have wing clip AND a pet. You haul a** away if possible. Concussive shot. Viper sting. Shoot, shoot, back up, shoot.
It's not that goddamn hard.

Adding to the defence of Shamans, I'm more than willing to bet that none of the players complaining are at endgame. All the endgame shamans I know, are being forced into secondary healing bitches. One of my RL buddies can't join the server's all 60 Raid guild unless he re-specs from elemental to restoration.
Every class has it's weakness. Ever seen a pally with no mana? Probably not. Well, until you tripped over his corpse. biggrin
[Gotta love Mana Burn.]

Actually, it's a lot of 60's complaining, and it's only about CTF it seems.
They only noticed Shamans were "overpowered" then. Go figure.

Druids are kickass! But I am biased. . .
Actually druids in a TM raid are pretty much useful as healbot and faerie fire on rogues. Not very exciting when my boyfriend who has a hunter is sitting on the other computer laughing about how he just massacred a bunch of noob elf rogues with his multi shot critting. redface

The problem with Shaman > Paladin is the Alliance feel it's unfair we get the buff class and they don't. On the other hand, Paladins aren't made for DPS - they're an annoying "I take the damage of three seperate people SOLO" tank-type. Warriors in the long run outtank paladins, especially if they go protection spec simply because they can keep the hate - but the Paladins can HEAL.
So I dunno. I don't think they're overpowered, you just have a collective mix of really shitty players and fantastic ones.

They're not really overpowered, but they have something that a lot of people playing other classes are jealous of--and that is the fact that shamas are actually fun and dynamic to play. Pallies are cleanse bots.

Well, if a Shaman follows the enhancement tree, they become ridiculously lethal.
However I have a shaman friend who refuses to heal, as he wants to tank, and will constantly draw to draw aggro away from me. Shamans may be great, but not tanks.

my bro is a lvl 56 shammy and his char is hard as heck to keep alive theres a lot of running involved and wastes a lot of mana on totems so he cant even do his awesome spells... but out of battle they are awesome they can hearthstone with a spell, ghostwolf, all there spells r instants. but overall they are just decent characters not overpowered

The alliance need to stop whining about challenges, and find good hunters to lay down a freezing trap at the flag. Man I hate those freezing traps, here's my solution...... One player (usualy the weaker) goes in and sets off the trap, then any guards try and kill him..... if still alive run and get stupid alliance to chase you, then another (preferibly a rogue or druid) goes in and grabs the flag without worry of a Freeze trap.... this works very well with two rogues, two druids, or one of each cause then the first often gets more attention cause he or she stealthed into the flag room (I don't understand why, but the alliance seems to chase after people who snuck into the room alot longer than people who just pop in
