Anyone here ever played/seen someone play Final Fantasy XI? Ah!! I can't wait to get that game!! It's a pain in the arse to get all the supplies to play it on PS2, but only $20 for Windows Users. I unfortunately haev Mac OS 9, and Knoppix (a version of Linux) so my only bet on playing the game is on PS2. But with a keyboard and mouth USB Plug-in, they're pretty much exaclty the same. In fact, the PS2 doesn't require a "good graphics card" because it's already built in with one. ^_^ The main difference between the PS2 and PC versions of FFXI -- $130 Dollars. xp Both PS2 users and PC Users can interact with eachother on the same servers, so it's more a matter of console. If anyone here has the right System Requirements ( Click Here) for their PC or has enough dough to get everything needed for a PS2, I highly recommend this MMORPG. 3nodding

Played it. It gets repetitive for me and it's pretty boring after a good while.
I'm playing X-2 and it's tolerable. Not recommended.

i had difficulty seeing X-2 as anything besides soft porn with music videos using pixels. As for XI, there's a friend who's also online right now, but he's likely playing FFXI with his wife, and they've been at it now for about a year. They are slightly past 50th level, and the game system has so many bad points that I scarcely could find a good point to elevate it beyond Final Fantasy 1.
Come to think of it, if you crossed final fantasy 1 with Gaia, it would be a better game.

Lol, soft porn xd That's a good way to look at it.
I just like X-2 because you don't have to exactly folow a story. You can do other things and go back. Although, it was made only after a year of X. It's still tolerable.
It's more of a lighter game. Not so much of drama and a storyline. More minigames and little here or there story.

@Noire: Okay, now let's list the bad parts of X-2. xd (Kidding. rofl )
By-the-by, I'm gonna buy the game myself and see how it is. I've seen plenty of good and bad reviews of the game, so I fear buying it for myself is the only solution. 3nodding
A few of my friend's said they were thinking of getting FFXI anyways, so we're gonna make like a 5 person party. rofl

Oh and once you quit FFXI, you can never play again without buying the game again.. grrr and I like to take breaks that is why I don't like it. whee Wait...Why do you have to buy the game again? Because if you don't pay, they erase your ID # and you have to buy the game again to get a new one or do their special "Come back to FFXI" things they had once. Which means to stop and play again, you have to buy FFXI again or wait for their special come back thingy which they might not be doing again.

Wiat-wait-wait...you're telling me I gotta buy the whole game over again? o_0
I was prepared and questioning the long Leveling system, the financial burden of the $100 HardDrive and $13 a month, and having to start over from scratch if I quit playing. But buy it over? I'm not going through that!!
Well -- I guess I can spend all that money I saved up now!! domokun
Are there any other good non-PC (or Linux/Mac friendly) online games?
I was really worked up for The Sims 2 but for some reason, it froze during the exact same spot while the intro of the game is going. crying It's strange since we exceeded all the System Requirements. And we even downgraded things like the Video Card to the exact System Requirement, and it still froze. crying I was dumbstruck! gonk
All the MMORPG websites seem to say that Guild Wars is the best. I also read a Strategy Guide for Star Wars Galaxies and that seemed good.
Then again -- I also read the Strategy Guide for FFXI and it seems beautiful!! gonk *sobs in corner*

This very much knocks FF XI out of the running.....would anyone else know much about Guild Wars really?
