When I first saw this game and the one for the Xbox 360 I thought that this one would be the better of the two, unfortunately I believe it comes at the expense of the latter being a horrible game. Anyway, I loved the idea of using the wiimote to control Sonic using the remotes motion sensitivity. I only hope that Sonic team takes the time to tweak the game so it isn’t buggy. I think this game has the potential to revive the Sonic series if they can just get it right.

Some details were released about the game in a magazine today... it doesn't sound good. To me, anyway.
It will have 10 levels, each level with 10 'missions' in. Sonic will have to unlock up to 100 skills over the course of the game. The skills are bought with experience points.
In conclusion? Sega still haven't worked out that the reason people liked sonic games, is because the only button it had was JUMP. 100 skills?! What are they THINKING?!

LOL thank you for stating that. i am one of those purist who feel sonic should run .... really really fast. that is it thats all you need. but this game (at least judging from the trailer) does give you a good sense of speed. i hope sega wont do anything to slow down sonic. also who else caught that in the game page it says that this is sonic's first solo adventure since 1991. now class why is this statement wrong ? blaugh

Another thing I'm worried about is Sonic's animations and the over all sense of speed in the game. I don't know about you guys, but to me the way Sonic runs in this game just doesn't seem right. Like his legs are moving slow but he's moving fast, plus the game is sort of on rails so yeaah.

yea i see what you mean by the legs. but the "speed lines" divert the attention from that. also they seem to enhance the sense that everything is going really really fast. as for the rails i remember how in the 2d sonic games there where levels where you would go so fast it was impossible to controll but the level design was made so you didnt have to control him. for example he would just enter a pipe and land on an enemy or an item box and bounce back into controll but that ... controlled chaos (for lack of a better term) was what kept the game fast and without being frustrating. in other words too much freedom might make the game unecessarly difficult. @mishima i wish i knew more about those 100 skills where did you find this article ? edit i just read some new information as to how the game is controlled source is wiki Quote: Control Players will control Sonic with the Wii Remote by holding the controller with both hands, much like an NES controller, and will be able to use the controller in unique ways that will take advantage of the Wii Remote's control mechanisms. Unlike other Sonic games, Secret Rings features an "on-rails" system whereby players will not have to hold forward to proceed; the game does it for you, making Sonic run in a semi-linear path. Sonic's movement will also be controlled by tilting the controller left or right, much like a steering wheel. Pulling the controller towards you allows you to make Sonic walk backwards, combining this with turning allows Sonic to rotate 360 degrees. The Number "2" Button is used to jump into the air while Sonic is running. If the player holds down this button, Sonic will slow down (and will even stop if it's held for a long time) to charge up a jump, and upon being released, he will execute a high jump through the air. [16] This system resembles, somewhat, the system present in Sonic Riders. Tilting the controller forward quickly right after a jump will execute Sonic's "Homing Attack" featured in previous games to attack enemies or home in on items.[17] Only by executing the sequence with proper timing will you be able to perform combo attacks, and hit other enemies or objects up ahead. [18]
