I like techno, some punk... I even listen to a bit of Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Chemlab... I tend to enjoy listening to classical music a lot, especially piano. I used to listen to a good deal of Andrew Lloyd Weber, and liked the Phantom of the Opera.
Lately, though, HybridThor kinda got me into Blink 182. I dunno, even some RHCP is good, I love their stuff. Used to listen to Alien Ant Farm, but due to a lack of new music, I kinda got out of that.

I grew up on the 80s... meaning I like rock, especially alternative rock. (My parents named me after a rock band, which was also the last name of a famous inventor.) (Let's just say that when I was younger, I though The Clash was saying "Talk to Tesla" rather than "Rock the Casbah.") (If I had to pick a decade to be born during, it probably would've been the 1960s.)
Now that you've heard three fun facts about me and music culture, here are my preferences:
Pink Floyd
Beatles
The Clash
Talking Heads
Men at Work
SuperTramp
Queen
etc.
Also enjoy classical, and music that has original lyrics, creative sounds, and is, in essence, poetry... I don't like country or rap, though.
There's music for me in a nutshell.

I enjoy classical music (string instruments are my favorite), Red Hot Chili Peppers are very good, Green Day, I've liked The Beatles since I was a little kid, and my favorite type of music is techno/trance/dance/electronica (Which isn't even a choice in the poll stare ).

Look for Joanna Newsom! heart Shes incredible, she's everything you described! Her voice is really strange though, it puts alot of people off. If you're into downloading, get "bridges and balloons". I like just about any kinds of music, I'll give anything a listen. Although I find it hard to get into Opera and Jazz. My favourite artists at the moment would have to be: Tom Waits Arcade Fire Bjork Radiohead Sigur Ros (new album in the autumn!) If you PM me with an artist or song, I promise I'll give it a listen! Or if you have a band ... I have WAY too much free time on my hands!

I like most genres of music, except for Rap >.<
However, my favorite types would be techno, "dance" music, or gothic.

Totally different things but I tend to see what I want to see. I love Rocky though, I think it's one of the greatest movies ever made. But speaking of music, I enjoy Irish Rock very much (FLOGGING MOLLY!), ska and punk rock. I like these bands: Dropkick Murphys, Adema, Anti-Flag, The Smooths and Mad Caddies. I enjoy very little rap; just songs by The Ghetto Boys (they're very profound). And can't forget of that song about Sunscreen of course. That's even more profound.
