The Place

The Stargate for this world rests in the middle of a vast plain, dry grasslands sweeping out for a good distance around it. To the left of the gate as you exit, is a dense forest on the horizon while dead ahead of the gate is a large temple with a sprawling city laid out behind it. The temple is enourmous and a kind of stone pathway leads towards it, everything looking well kept even if the gate is in the middle of a wild plain. To the right of the gate is a river. It is slow moving and sluggish but has clear water and looks drinkable. Sometimes there are herds of goats grazing on this plain.

The People

The common people of Maadi, at least those that live near to the gate, seem to be friendly enough but they are simple folk and can be frightened by Earth Gaian technology. However, the priests of the temple and the local Lord seem to know of what technology our planet has and don't seem impressed by it in the least which can be seen as suspicious.

The Mission

The mission for this planet will start out as standard recon but may develop into something more, depending what we find. Any SG teams are welcome. Paperpusher unit team members also welcome.. There is a lot of things of scientific interest here.

Roleplay rules for this planet

-3rd person RP... Use full sentances, no *...* .. It's easier then it sounds XD

-Remember to listen to your superior officers!

-Anyone can be any of the native people

Lady Zelda also stepped out of the gate, with an expression of sheer joy on her face. Like a small child who just found their faveorite stuffed toy.
Besides, who knew when a little barganing was necicarry?
She looked in all directions,then said aloud "What do you think the chances are that they'll go phyco on us? Just curious."

Snow White just arrived through the postal, and the world seemd peaceful. "I wonder what are we are actually looking out in here that needs help from the marines..." she asked to herself as she joined the companions who have arrived. Being a captain, she had to oversee the marines, but she was wondering how long it would take them to arrive here.

"This is going to rock..."Lady Zelda smiled, looking around some more. "Hopefully the chances are as slim as you hope they are."She added, keeping one hand ready to whip out the pistol she hid literally up her sleeve. Even people who were just there to talk needed to have SOMETHING to protect themselves with, right?

"Agreed." The major nodded to SWP. "Let's move out, people. We head for the temple; follow the road. And remember, this is an alien world! It might look a bit like home but it isn't.." She paused. "The weather kinda beats ours though." JL moved down towards the pathway and paused, checking her supplies and weaponry for a second time before finally deciding to take point and move on ahead. That way, if there was hostilities, she would be there first. JL valued the lives of her comrades greatly and would happily give herself up for them.

For now, the road seemed deserted and JL was glad of this. Hopefully they would get to see some average, everyday people before they ran across anyone of rank. It was always easier to get a feel of a culture from the citizens then from a government that might try to cover it all up. Before she got mroe then a few metres, she paused and looked back.

"Also, I want a constant open channel on the radio." She paused and looked back at the still open and shimmering gate, deciding to send a final message before it closed. "Stargate Command, this is Major JL. We are moving out towards what appears to be a main settlement. Further SGC teams willing to participate in this mission should pass through the gate and radio in to me. JL Out." She began walking again as the gate closed off.

"That would certainly be interesting, Lady Zelda" she chuckled, as they all walked towards the main settlement. "If this all goes well, we could stay after a few days when the job is done to relax a bit, don't you guys think"
Life at the base was always hectic, and this had been one of the easiest missions in a very long while; they all needed a break.

"So, what is the mission exactly. I mean obviously, I know what I am doing here, and I know we are to make peaceful contact, but other than that, I am clueless."

Psychic? JL couldn't help but smile. Oh, what Gaia would do if they found out a race of psychics had been discovered. And yes, it would be nice to relax a little after all of the recent missions. Things had been so hectic recentley, what with the surg and everything. She frowned a little as Lady Zelda started singing.

"As much as I like your singing voice, Lady Zelda, this is still a mission, be they friendly or not." She paused a moment. "We must try and establish diplomatic relations with these people if we can and work out if they are any threat to us or our world." She added after a moment, answeeing Snow White's question.

He checked his suplies over and then began to follow them down the road.
