The serenity of it all. The sun had just started to pitch the sky into twilight, before dusk would come. The moon was barely visable, and even some stars were visable as well. Reyhyeh watched the colors in the sky, Alyra's bronzen body sometimes snaking into her vision.

The Fire/Wind hybrid was up and flying, peering ahead at the land before them before she had to land. She had gotten much bigger and stronger since her hatching, and could even glide with Reyhyeh short lengths already! It was a good thing her Bonded was smaller then most humans... Her ice blue gaze met up with water... a river perhaps? She curled downwards into a spiral, soon flying in lazy circles around her Bonded.

Reyhyeh watched Alyra still, before looking at the surrounding area. It was a clearing, with high grass that came almost up to her waist. A small forest bordered the clearing, and the soft sound of rushing water could clearly be heard.

On the ground, Blade walked along the edge of the small forest with a large black and somewhat disgruntled wyrm following him.

From the small but fairly filled bag he had slung over his shoulders, it seemed that the two had just come from raiding some rich-man's home. And while Alastor didn't really care for the whole thing all too much, his thieving bond seemed to be pretty satisfied.

So they moved on, making their way back home to drop off a few of the goods.

Blade was hoping to get back soon, as he was also fairly tired from staying up most of the night. That was just one draw back of doing these late night runs, but one way or another, he'll regain the sleep he's lost because of it.

Reyhyeh paused her walking, her crimson eyes closing for a brief moment. She heard Alyra land next to her, and felt the Wyrm press her muzzle into her hand. Opening her eyes, she smiled at the Bronze Fire/Wind wyrm and pet the top of her head. Maybe they could give it up for the night.

Sitting down on a rock, Reyhyeh dug through her pack for something to eat. She only came upon a half a loaf of bread, and a bit of preserved meat. Handing a portion of the meat of Alyra, Reyhyeh ripped up portions of the half loaf and stuff them into her mouth. The Hybrid Wyrmess happily ate her food, the flames along her spine roaring up in her happiness. Even some of the grass happened to catch and smoke a bit.

While he strolled along, Blade felt a familiar rumble emit from his stomach. Pausing as he heard it as well, he let out a small sigh since he didn't have anything to eat with him. He would have to wait until he was home before he'd have any food.

"Man... next time, remind me to bring something to snack on."

Alastor shook his head to himself, remaining silent with that comment. He could use something to eat as well, but he didn't speak up. His bonded pretty much knew that he had heard him anyway.

The Fire/Wind Wyrm set her meat down, and pulled her head away to study it. She ducked in again close to it and inhaled. With her exhilation, a small stream of fire erupted from her mouth. Even if it hadn't lasted long, it had gotten her desired reaction: the meat had gotten warmth, and seemed to spring back to life. Content now, she bit off another portion and resumed eating.

Alyra and Reyhyeh both paused in their eating, hearing something... familiar. A stomach growling? Both Wyrm and Bonded looked at each other. If it hadn't come from either of them... Then someone else was around.

Hello? Alyra broadcasted aloud, despite the look Reyhyeh had given her.

Upon hearing a voice call out to them or to anyone in the area in general, Blade paused once before looking about. He glanced back at the dark wyrm behind him to see if he saw anything, but it seemed that Alastor had not seen anyone either.

Taking a moment to think about whether or not he should answer, he just decided to go ahead with it.

"Ah... hey?" he asked while still looking about, only to be pushed lightly from behind.

"Just keep moving. We're both tired and hungry so let's get home."

At hearing another's response, Alyra left her meat alone and lifted up so she was visable over the grass. We have food. Her voice tried to persuade. She was tired of being the only two traveling. Plus, she was too kind to just let them keep wandering without helping them in some way...

Reyhyeh smiled bitterly. She loved Alyra dearly, but sometimes she thought too much for others....

Soon after hearing a tempting statement, the thief glanced to the side to see a young wyrm in the grass. He raised an eyebrow slightly, not really sure if he should go to the female. Another low rumble spoke out from his stomach, making him want to accept the offer.

But at the same time, he was wary of it. After all, this could have been some sort of ploy to lure him and his wyrm into some sort of trap.

Snarling somewhat, the dark wyrm glowered at the fire/wing female nearby. That was his way of saying, 'I don't trust you. Go away and let us travel' without actually needing to form words.

"Hey, take it easy Alastor."

Frowning at him, Blade nudged the dragon and shook his head to himself.

Alyra was slightly shocked--and saddened--and this reaction. Her wings drooped slightly, and her head lowered. She had been only trying to help... she knew the hardships of traveling well, and didn't want others to suffer them. Her sudden hardships made her think of Alath and Sampson, and wondering where /they/ were now...

Reyhyeh looked up at Alyra, watching her reactions. Reaching up, she stroked the Wyrm's feathered shoulders and wings. "It's alright, ALyra. Let them pass if they wish to..." She spoke to her Wyrm aloud, too hungry to mindspeak her Wyrm.

Muttering to himself, Blade shot a glare at his wyrm, giving a bit of a mental scolding to the dark dragon. Sometimes he wished that Alastor would ease up a bit and be a little nicer towards strangers, but he supposed it was better than being overly naive and trusting.

Shaking his head slightly, he glanced over at the younger wyrm and what appeared to be her bonded nearby.

"Sorry for my wyrm here... he doesn't really take kindly to strangers. Now, I'm just curious as to why you offer to help out a pair of strangers like us."

Blinking for a moment, the pyrotechnist looked over at the Shadow Wyrm and his Bond. "...We know the hardships of traveling. It was simply a gesture of kindness, to ease another's momentary problems."

Err... uhh... Yeah, what she said. Alyra responded, crooning softly as Reyhyeh continued to smoothen down Alyra's bronzen scares around her head.

Blade glanced over to Alastor for a moment before shrugging slightly. With a smile, he just nodded to the two before them.

"Well, I guess it wouldn't be too bad to get a little bit of help here. We've pretty much been out all night long."

The shadow wyrm snorted in disapproval, but he still said nothing. If his bond wanted to trust them, that was fine, but he was going to keep an eye on them. In a way, he wanted something to happen, just so he could say 'I told you so' to the thief.

Alyra beamed at his response, flapping her wings happily. I am Alyra, and my Bonded's name is Reyhyeh. She folded her wings back against her body, returning back to her meal.

Smiling softly, Reyhyeh dug into her pack, finding some of the bread and dried meat left. She held it out to the strangers, the half-smile still on her face. "A little rest never really hurt anyone."

"And I'm Blade. The grumpy fellow with me is Alastor," he said with a bit of a smile. Though, that comment of his earned a disgruntled snort from the shadow wyrm with him.

Then glancing down at the food offered to them and takes it, giving a nod of gratitude to Reyhyeh.

"Nope, a little rest never hurt at all."

Still smiling slightly, he then held out the dried meat to his wrym. Alastor simply refused before sitting down onto his haunches. Shrugging, Blade just took a bite out of the bread, saving the meat for now.

"Thanks, you've no idea how hungry I was getting.. Where were you two headed anyway?"
