What levels of BDSM are you involved in 'IRL'?
Myself and Sebastian are essentially what we play here; a Total Power Exchange relationship, but unfortunately smack in the middle of Conservative City, Kansas. gonk Once we finish college, we will be hauling a** to the Northwest. Or Europe. :3
So, before I elaborate, enlighten me as to what your interests outside cyberspace entail.

You know I don't very often practice it in real life, but I did study up on two forms of bondage roleplay, one being D/s and the other Gorean. I rather like Gorean but it is very rigid and the one place I found to rp it was with some very unhappy men and women who would turn on each other all the time. Can we say drama llama? dramallama

Gorean is interesting, but it doesn't fit as nicely into my own life. On the other hand, it really is simply a subcategory of Total Power Exchange. Their set of morals, however, I cannot mesh with. XD

In character is completely different than how I am in real life. I don't like too rough o' stuff outside of being tied up and possibly blindfolded. That's for either myself or partner. I don't like having one designated dom or sub. It's just not fun. Japanese rope tieing actually scares me a bit... Just soft-core bondage and maybe a horse crop or flogger thrown into the mix. Nothing too hard for me. :blushes a bit:

I'm intrested in doing a little IRL since I've done so much in RP, but I'm way too scared of what some of my friends would say if they knew. =x -shuffles foot in dirt-

I'm a bit to younge to participate in this kind of thing in real life. And frankly even if I was a little older (i'm ALMOST 18 just not quite there yet) I'd still be kind of scared to try it. I've experimented with both roles here in rps and I think I'd like being the submissive one.
However the thought of giving myself over compleatly to one person is such a big deal it frightens me.

The subculture in itself tends to be a lot more gentle than it may appear. XD

It is very alternative. Everyone I've revealed my interests to has frowned upon me and my choices. Funny thing is, though, I'm more than content with my lifestyle while the critical ones seem to always be the individuals struggling to find satisfaction. lol

I actually came in from the other end of this. Two years ago I'd have never imagined the sexual aspects of BDSM to be in my future, but I'd always needed to protect and control someone or something.
The thing about it is that it's never an all or nothing deal. You can take what you want and leave what you dislike as long as you continue looking for that elegant balance that makes you content with your life. It's an unfortunate thing that peer pressure plays such a large role in our lives, since because of this the need to fit in and the need to be comfortable with yourself will conflict at times. Admittedly, it's sometimes better not to know what you pine for, as often it's not what the social elite tell you you aught to pine for, but life is boring without risk, and boredom really really sucks.
