Hm, I was in a CPT class a while back and I seem to recall using a free program called Audacity which can strip songs. I will brb. EDIT: Check it. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/You can download it for free. Look under Help, Tutorials, Audacity 1.2 Tutorials, and there should be something in there somewhere about getting rid of the vocals in songs (A.K.A. 'stripping' them.) EDIT #2: Actually, just looked a bit closer, it's under Help, FAQ. It's the last question on the page. biggrin Anyways, I don't have time to download and fiddle around with it until I can strip the song, but if you wanna do it yourself now you can try.

Whenever I go to help, it just gives me this big confusing manual, but it dosen't say anything about a faq.

x__x;; Go to the website and click the 'Help' tab. Once you've done that and the help page is loaded, if you look to the left you can see this square-ish menu thing that looks sort of like HelpFAQDocumentationTutoralsNyquistAnd you just click FAQ. biggrin

I've always wondered what these songs sound like without vocals...
in this song if you take off the vocals there's still singing, but he's singing different notes and stuff.
and it's really quiet.

I downloaded it, and I'm following the steps, but no matter what I do (well, the only thing I've figured out that I CAN do is select all, which it said to do in the FAQ if I couldn't get the controls to work) I can't get the "split stereo track" option to work. So, in short, I can't do it. :C
edit; waitnevermind.
But um, when it says "change each track to mono" or w/e, what does that mean? How do I know which track I'm on/change it? :/ Jees I feel like I should figure this out, everyone else has. xD
Oh, and have any of you ever heard 'Vampires' backwards? It's on TIP. ITS ******** FREAKY. And it sounds like it's saying weird s**t, too. You should totally downloa it 3nodding

I was reversing songs today, it was really fun. xDD
early sunsets sound really weird backwards.
sometimes when I try to strip vocals, it dosen't work though.
but I'll try it with mama. x__x
edit: i just sped up sleep so it was chipmunk-ish...I love chipmunk versions. <33
sleep is one of my fav songs. <3

Sounds like a lot of you are going to try stripping the lyrics out of songs. And being the complete lazy a** I am; once someone does it could you post the file here? I'd love to hear it, but don't want to go through all the work of doing it if there's 5 others giving it a try.

dude.
you can still kinda hear the vocals on mama, but mostly the music...
I guess there's a layer underneath with gerard singing different notes in the chorus, and it sound really cool. xD
and you can hear the nasaly voice when he's singing about the war! :''D
BUT
it won't let me save.
so I would so totally share it but I can't. .__.

GAH D: this program sounds like it's really temperamental.
But oh well.
Another song you guys should hear that's on TIP is Cemetery Drive, stripped. Its the saddest/creepiest/eeriest thing you will ever hear. Seriously D; its so good though, Im getting shivers just thinking about it.

That's probably somewhere in the FAQ on the site as well. I'm pretty sure Audacity's capable of it.
