Every now and hten when I glance at the memberlist, I weep to see that we have people who joined the guild, it seems, only so that they can say they joined a guild. Sure they may be PA fans, but there is little cause to join a guild if you will not be participating in it. The majority of those wilth zero posts have actually been members of the guild for a while now, and still as inactive as ever.
Therefore I put forth this question in the interest of keeping our guild nice, tidy, and kickass.
Should we ban the inactive members?
Personally I would like to, and then perhaps see about cleaning up those who have posted once or twice then left. However I think that should we decide to do this we at the very least PM the inactive members a warning- that is, see if they plan on becoming involved- even just a post or two every few weeks is better than nothing.
Edit: d00ds, apparently there were anumber of join requests that had gone unnoticed for quite a bit- I believe we have 6 new members of the guild. They would be overlooked for low posting frequency considering their newness.

I believe that it doesn't hurt anything if they are just "rotting" on our memberlist. I mean, why not at least give the offenders the chance to change their mind and maybe see the side of light and come back. No guild will ever be totally clear of inactive members, at least from I have seen from my 6 guilds sweatdrop

I agree, just as long as we let the said member be notified of their absense. We need to place a system with it as well, such as if we don't hear from you in ten or however days, you'll be notified. And if you don't respond to the notification in the same amount of days, then you're out.
I'll go on ahead and make this a rule, if everyone agrees with it.

I'd agree with this. I mean, we should warn them, but you already mentioned that. smile

Karen: It doesn't really hurt to have people with 0 posts on the memberlist, but it does clutter it up- I know that these sorts of measures are oftent aken in MMORPG Guilds, and of course we will give notification to the person to see if they wish to come back at all. ^_^

The notification is a good idea. You never know if the person left Gaia and will never be seen again.

I do believe that warning them is a good idea. I mean, I've checked the guild all the time, but I just read the threads, and hardly ever posted.... But I'm back! I spent most of my time on Gaia getting free art.
