The large lion sighed as he once again wandered the perimeter if the Unity Walker's lands. His large fluffy mane blew in the wind that passed through the trees, and he sighed with a heavy heart. He missed Tui desperately, hoping that she was safe wherver she was.
Sitting down beside a small river, Tamariku watched his reflection in the ripples of water. "Oh tui, where are you?" He asked the flowing water, and his only answer was a few bubbles from the deep. He sighed and set his head down on the shore.
Tui was bombarded with memories as she entered the jungle she had grown up in. With a deep breath she glanced behind her to make sure Yua was following. After meeting the young male, her life had changed so much in one night. She had decided to leave and go with him, to find her own life and perhaps make a family of thier own, but of course Tuyi hadn't told Yua of THAt part of her daydreaming yet.
Walking through the trees, she glanced to her partner and smiled with a hint of nervousness. She knew her father could be quite scary if he was angry, and he surely wouldn't like the fact that Yua was whisking Tui away to new lands. "Are you nervous?"

"Nervous? I'm about to meet a man who is probably 30% bigger than me, 50% stronger then me, 100% saner than me, and tell him 'Hi, I'm running off with your daughter. She's very lovely, but I promise I won't do anything bad to her. I'm a complete stranger, please don't kill me'. I'm -hardly- nervous. I'm terrified, to be honest." his tone was full of laughter and joking, doing well to defend himself with the statement, though mentally, that was how he had taken to the situation.
Indeed, all things considered, he was hopign to get through everything without having his face mauled off in three quick strokes (or even one..), and retain most of his limbs.
He strode by Tui's side, however, keeping his confidence in what was to happen high. Things went better if he kept a positive attitude, he had found.
"If worse comes to worse, what's plan B?"

Tui giggled at his comment, and shook her head with a smile. "I don't really have a plan B.. Perhaps run as fast as you can before he kills you?" She said with a grin. "Don't worry, he'll like you. He's more reasonable than other fathers." I hope. She thought with a gulp as they approached the prides border.
--
Tamariku stood and shook his large mane off, watching the water flow through the trees. He looked around, wondering why Tui would want to leave all this beauty behind.
As he thought, he suddenly saw familiar - and an unfamiliar- shapes moving through the trees. His two-toned eyes widened as he saw his daughter strolling through the trees, and he grinned. But as he saw a male lion accompying her, his grin turned into a snarl and he glared with such force it seemed he wanted to kill Yua without even meeting him.
"Dad!" Tui called as she saw the familiar form of her large and fluffy father. She ran over and nuzzled him affectionately. Riku smiled down at her and nuzzled her back. They bonked their heads together, as was a strange little custom in their family. "Tui! You've come back! We've all been so worriedabout you!" He said, nuzzling her once more.
As Riku's eyes traveled from his lovely daughter to the DEMON with her, his lip curled into a growl. "And who's that?" He said the word with such venom it was like he had spoken the most horrible curse word in the world.
Tui glanced at Yua and smiled, but turning to her dad she gulped nervously. "Oh, this is Yua! I met him in the jungle. I didn't go far from the jungle, you know. I wanted to stay at home. But now I think it's time for me to go out on my own, dad. Yua is very kind, he's going to travel with me." She explained it all in a hurry, and made sure to stand between the two lions. "Yua, this is my dad, Tamariku. Dad, this is Yua." In a lower voice meant for her fathers ears alone she whispered, "Be nice."

".. I guess that's only plan 'B' that would end up working out for me, ne?" he replied, then sighed heavily. Man. They weren't even a COUPLE and he was gonna get his a** kicked for her. Talk about a dedicated friend.
"You think so? Somehow, I get this impending feeling that I won't be so lucky.."
---
Staring at the large daunting male who was glaring at him, even from a distance. -THIS- must have been daddy dearest.. and daddy dearest was -not- fond of the strange male who was with his daughter. To be expected, in the least, he still simply wanted to melt, but forced his bone structure to stay in tact.
He didn't want to melt into a puddle or turn into a 'rubber skin' puddle from a lack of support to hold him up under that look. Leaning over to Tui, he mumbled "How does he look at people he -doesn't- like?" before she went running off to the large figure, taking a few more steps, then sitting down, not quite ready to jump into the happy family circle just yet.
It's a mixture of green and blue, mostly green, but there are two shades of blue, just like his daughters, they mostly eat at his paws, and leave the green to the trunk of his body. he observed in sort of a half-awake stupor, before sitting up in an abnormally forced posture when the introductions began.
"I'm pleased to meet you, Tamariku." Yua stated, bowing his head out of politeness. "I can gu..." the stuttering bit began so easily for him. "I mean.."... "Er..." this went on for a minute, before finally he shrunk a bit as said. "I know I'm a stranger, and you just found me with your daughter, but please don't eat me...."

Tui looked over at Yua, and closed her eyes with a shake of her head. Smooth, Yua. Real smooth. She thought, but smiled nonetheless and looked to Riku for his reaction.
The older male looked at Yua with a contemplating gaze for a few moments. He had always been a fairly good judge of character, and he looked over this young male. He couldn't sense anything malicious about him. In fact, he seemed rather kind. But Riku wouldn't let the young guy think he was accepted just like that.
As Yua spoke, Riku gave him a quirked brow and as the young male finished Riku burst out laughing. It was a loud, hearty laugh and Tui smiled when she heard it. She had missed it.
"Oh, boy, I won't eat you." Riku said, shaking his head as his smile started to wane. "I'm just a bit shocked to see my daughter with a young male such as yourself." He looked to Tui and smiled, his eyes filled with concern and love for his daughter. "Are you sure, Tui? You don't want to stay here with you mom and me?" He asked, pretty much ignoring Yua for the moment.
Tui smiled up at her dad and nuzzled his big fluffy mane. "I love you and mom and Nakawa, and everyone else. But I want to go with Yua and find my own life." She said softly, gazing up at him with hope-filled eyes. Riku sighed heavily and nodded. "Just promise to come back again someday." He said softly, and Tui nuzzled him once again. "I promise."
Riku cleared his throat gruffly, didn't wanna start blubbering now! He pulled away from his daughter and Tui sat beside Yua with a smile at him. Riku looked them over and nodded a bit. "Well, Yua, tell me a bit about yourself. I can't have my only daughter going off with a male I know nothing about." His eyes became a little softer, but there was still a hint of a glare in them.

It seemed he was out from under the scope of radiating and glaring anger for now, taking his opportunity of pure FREEDOM to relax, making sure he still had all appendages (and if watched, he did use a paw to make sure..), and a pulse as well. All in all, he was surprised he hadn't had a heart-attack from NOT being eaten.
He could handle someone trying to eat him. It was the lack of that worried him.
Upon observing, he found that Tui's communications with her father were going well. Didn't seem like much of a problem would come out of it... until attention was placed back on him, looking at Tui, and returning the smile, albeit it was obvious he was nervous about the whole 'meet the dad' bit, before turning his attention to... well. Dad.
"I wasn't really expecting you to do such. I can't think of any father who would be 'Oh. Strange boy I don't know? You're leaving into who knows where with him? Sounds -WONDERFUL- see you in a month.' I would have, frankly, been a bit disappointed if I'd gotten off without the butterflies in my stomach serving any useful purpose to me." he stated, seeming to do well on trying to make ... better re-impression.
And he'd thought it was a rather impressive job himself.
"I would have to say I don't have much to say about myself. I am simply one who wanders the savannah, looking out for my niche in life." he took care to not lean against Tui's side, as, as much as it would have been comforting to do so, it would have been frowned upon by her father.
"I would have to say that my talents lay in... observancy, more than anything else. I have a different perspective on things than most others do."

Riku watched the youth as he spoke, and he instantly knew why Tui liked him. He was rather quick-witted, and amusing. Riku chuckled heartily once more at his comments and nodded. "Well, I'm glad you understand my position then." He said with a nod.
Tui smiled brightly, glad they were starting to get along. She knew her father would miss her, but in her heart of hearts she felt she needed to go and find her own place in life.
Riku nodded as Yua continued, and he quirked a brow atb his last statement. "And what perspective might that be, hmmm?" He asked, wondering what the young male had meant by his comment.

Yua's brain searched for the best response to that question. Well, if he was to earn the respect of daddy dearest, his best option was to full out be blunt.
"I see spiritual energy, and the auras of all things living, while some things not-so-living as well, to be frank." He almost wanted to wince for saying it, but he refrained the urge to do so. If he looked to be ashamed of such things, it would have reflected badly upon him for sharing such information.
"Your daughter.." he nodded towards Tui, "bears some of the same colors as you do. Shades of blue, while you too bear the blue, I see more green in you. I myself have more of a golden shade." he explained. "I've still yet to find what each shade means, but I'm starting to relate certain colors to other things. Blue, I believe, is confidence, green.. I've met few with the green, and have yet to get to know anybody with such colors. So I cannot say."
And the golden color? Well...
"I think my own color.. bears my inability to see into myself. Uncertainty."
.. Man.. he talked -way- too much. "So yes. My 'perspective'." Yua suddenly laughed, possibly the first time he had in the presence of the female at his side. "I would not hold it against you if you frown upon hearing your daughter is in the company of a freak."

The large lion didn't hold back the look of surprise that crossed his face when Yua spoke about his... 'talent'. He thought for a few long moments on it, not saying anything, but merely staring hard at the youth before him. He could usually tell when someone was lying (being around cubs all the time gave you that talent), and he knew this boy was not lying.
Lifting up his paw and examaining it, a lot like Tui had done when she had heard she had a color, Riku scrunched up his face and wondered if he could somehow miraculously see it, too. He didn't of course and he set his paw back down, then looked up at Yua once more.
"You're not a freak." He said flatly, holding back a smile. "I believe you."
Tui grinned as she heard her father speak, and she looked at Yua with the same giant smile. She knew her dad now accepted Yua, though he wouldn't outright say it. "Thanks, Dad." She said with a smile to the big lion before them. She made sure her father couldn't see, as she wrapped her tail 'round Yua's.

There was some amusement to be had as Yua did his best to NOT leap off to one side (again) in shock at the female's actions, simply keeping as straight of a face as possible.
"I thank you for believing me. It is a rare gift for me to get from most, to say." he replied sheepishly, having held back some amusement in how the 'colors' were investigated. If simply, in suggestion, Yua simply said; "It's harder to see when you look straight at the fur, it more 'halos' around the 'outline' to say. At least that was how it started for me when I first started seeing it." he explained.
He smiled a bit. "Is there anything else I should say?" he pondered out loud for a minute, trying to determine if there was anything else that was of enough concern to bring up to the father of the beautiful one at his side (why did he even think of her that way? It was strange. He had never even considered his mother as the 'most beautiful woman in the world' at one point.. )
"I think that's about it to say about me."
He'd been alone for so long, it was so.. strange to have people to talk to so .. casually, to say the least.

Tui smiled over at Yua, taking her tail off his for the moment. She had forgotten that he was so jumpy, and she didn't want her father to see it, either.
Riku smiled at the pair, and in his mind he admitted they were adorable together. He would never, ever say that aloud, especially not to the two of them. "Well, I suppose it goes without saying that I'll let you go with this young lion." Riku said, smiling at his daughter. As his eyes traveled to Yua his smile dissapeared and his eyes narrowed ever so slightly.
"But if you ever do anything to hurt her, I'll hunt you down and skin you."
Tui blinked in surprise, just as her fathers face went back to it's normal jovial one. She glanced at Yua with a weak and nervous smile.

Yua laughed a bit at the threat, almost as if undaunted by it, or rather, accepting of the terms. "I'm glad that you're willing to but me out of my misery if I should ever become so stupid as to do such a thing to someone so wonderful." he agreed, then looked back to Tui, also smiling a bit.
However, he didn't seem to be 'nervous', moreso than surprised that he hadn't been mauled, AND that, apparently, he'd passed parental approval on the half of the father.
It was definately a good sign.
"I am also grateful that you have given Tui your blessing to travel with me. I imagine it would have been harder for her to have gone out into the world without knowing that there was at least one other person behind her."
Perhaps that had been his idea the whole time. But, then again, he was a guy, he wasn't supposed to think that well.

Riku gave Yua the slightest of smiles before looking to his daughter with concern-filled eyes. He once again nuzzled her lovingly, and sighed heavily as he thought about how much he'd miss her.
Tui smiled up at her dad, nuzzling him back just as lovingly. They stayed like that for a few moments, before Tui pulled away and looked to Yua, then back to her dad. "Well... I suppose this is goodbye then, huh? Not for forever though." She added, seeing the look on her fathers face.
Riku smiled warmly at her and nodded. "Yes, I suppose it is goodbye. But we'll meet again." He nuzzled her one las time, then looked to Yua and inclined his head in a sort of goodbye-bow.
"I love you dad, see you soon!" Tui said happily as she turned and motioned Yua to follow her, walking off into the jungle with a long backwards glance at her father. Riku smiled and watched her leave, "I love you, too, Tui." He said softly, but he had the feeling she had heard him.

The bow of the head was returned, only his head was inclined more, out of respect to the position of the 'older lion' position that Riku held, and simply watched, with a bit of internal pain, at the pair as they prepared to part.
"We'll see you again." was all he said in parting to his companion's (IT'S YER GIRLFRIEND YUA! GET IT RIIIGHT!!) father, and quickly took to Tui's side as she walked from him. It was only once they were out of earshot, that Yua let out a DEEEEP breath, almost as if he'd been holding his throughout the entire meeting, leaning against Tui's side a bit. She was so -small- compared to him, it seemed.
Not that it really mattered. He only noticed now that they were shoulder to shoulder, and it was dismissed just as quickly. "I like your father." he mused. "Threats and all."
However, he could have done without the bad mental images of being a skinless lion. Well.. not really. He'd just ignore it and they'd go away.
"I do get a feeling he was a bit suspicious of me, though.."

Tui smiled brightly over at him and giggled. "Believe me, that went -very- well." She said, grinning at him once again. She leaned against him as well, glad to be close to him again. The thought made her blush slightly and she tried to hide it by inspecting a considerably interesting tree.
"So... which way should we go?" She asked, finally looking back over to him, her grin back in place. "I have no diea where anything is; although that thought doesn't really frighten me as much as it used to." She smiled at him, it was obvious that she meant she was less afreaid because he was there, but he didn't need to know that. Her lavender eyes stared ahead at the horizon; what adventures awaited them, she couldn't tell. And she couldn't wait for them to begin.
