Mine is from one of the last episodes of the 1st gig where The Major is getting her prosthetic body swapped after she lost an arm in the incident with the armored suit. It goes like this;
"The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one."
It's from the book "Catcher in the rye" by J.D. Salinger, the author that wrote a short story called "The laughing man". Needless to say, the first season was influenced by said author.

Togusa: Are you planning on starting a war?
Batou: Don't you hate the yakuza too?
Togusa: Yes, but...
Batou: One doesn't need to be a yakuza to pay a visit to the yakuza.
