Recently I've been doing a bit of lurking in the C&T forum and find a lot of the stuff metioned and discussed there extremely interesting. I particularly enjoy talking about modding computers to make them more functional (Example: I recently found out that there is a way to install Mac OSX on a PC). So I wanted to start a smaller version of C&T right here. Have questions, comment, or just want to discuss computers? I'd like to see what you all have to say. And for those of us geeky enough and can't think of anything else, post your system specs. mrgreen Koji's Rig Case: Ultra ULT31586 Wizard Mini Tower Case Power Supply: 350+ Watts Motherboard: Asus K8V SE Deluxe (Socket 754) Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Heat Sync: Kingwin K8CU-8025 Copper CPU Cooler Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 RAM: 3x 512 MB DDR w/ heat spreaders Hard Drives: 2x Western Digital 250GB EIDE CD/DVD Drives: DVD-/+RW 4x/52x/4x Monitor: Northwood Micro 15" Flatcreen LCD Speakers: Creative Audio 2.1 Speaker System Keyboard: Logitech iTouch Internet Keyboard Mouse: Logitech Optical Scroll Mouse

religion and computers become the same issue on the internet, and both lead to a wide variety of arguments. Therefore, I will stay out of this conversation. 3nodding

Kasumi The Tiger 13 what is the best program out there that can get rid of spyware, and help me keep my pc clean. i prefer adaware and spybot, plus panda if things get really bad. there's online virus cleaning programs, about the noly advice i can give is avoiding norton and macafee. those programs haven't kept out anything i know of for over five years, and are similar in quality to a microsfot update talk2hand

I would recommend Spybot Search & Destroy or AdAware if you don't want to spend money for your anti-virus software. If you have money to throw at the problem though, I recommend Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security as it has not only anti-virus/anti-spyware functions, but also has tools to guard your personal information and configurations for blocking spam and malicious network activity.

I don't know much about it though. Usually putting all details on low and put off nearly all other programs you might have running saves a few headaches. (:

I'd recommend Avast and ZoneAlarm. Both recommended by the Pros, and amazingly good when working together. Make sure to deactivate Avast's Web Guard when it asks you to!
And for my Spec, which is relatively weak, but still does the job.Seco's Machine {Gadelica} Case: Ebuyer Dracula (Silver/Black) Power Supply: 300 Watts Mobo: Gigabyte RNZ-7+ Processor: AMD Sempron 3000 Heat Sync: Can't remember. : D Video: ATi Radeon Sapphire 128Mb RAM: 512Mb DDR 133 (I think) HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 40gb (Partition 20:15:5) CD/DVD: Philips 52x CDRW, Generic 16x DVD-/+ RW Monitor: Delta Low Radiation 17" CRT Speakers: Low Quality Sony CD Speakers (When CDWalkmans were all the rage. : D), logitech multimedia headset.
