A roleplay has certain characters, timeframes, real settings, and somewhat kind of plot. Yes, I know you all know that. A chatplay is sort of like a roleplay, but I shall explain it because it's confusing.
Chatplays CAN have a setting but there really is no plot. It's just conversations and actions -Like what we do in the Lounge thread- except you are your roleplay character. For example I can be my pirate roleplay character, Irizik, even though this isn't a pirate RP thread. Or I could be my Military RP character, Crevan, even though this isn't the military RP. OR I could be both of them at the same time interacting with other peoples RP characters. Sort of understanding now??
Even though I know you all are so smart Let me just give an example.
Imature Dork
INSERT YOU HERE
Imature Dork
~Irizik looks around~ Where am I and why am I shackled to the floor?
~_____ runs and tackles Irizik~
Irizik: Gah. X____x
Crevan: Bwahahahaha! rofl
When I had one character I just used his name and an action. -Yes, those squggles are how I indicate action- Then your character responded. It could be whoever you want.
When I had two characters, however, I had to indicate which one was which because it would be confusing if you had several characters doing things and no one knowing which character is doing what. X3
Just post any questions and I shall answer them since I am pretty bad at trying to explain things through words.
