There is an open field. Grass, trees, and any other sort of attractive plant life can be found here. To the west, a beautiful river flows, separating the field from Delarion, and much farther to the east from Delfos. It's called the Sentarian Plain, a very fertile patch of land, beautiful and free. But that is not the object of our attention. It is to the north, beyond the border of the plain.
A very small patch of land is separated from the others on a tiny peninsula at the northernmost point of the continent of Tellus. The grounds are rarely walked, not due to danger, but simply by rumor. Here, you can see a very distinct line on the ground where the plains end and the wasteland begins. The vegetation is withered, if existent at all, and it almost seems like the sky grows permanently cloudy over this specific expanse of forsaken land. The ground is littered with rusted swords, shields, axes, armor, lances, and other weaponry, all stained with dried blood that never washed off for some reason. A crumbling wall is seen as one heads farther north. It can be seen that it was at one point perhaps a formidable defense, but these days it can be walked right past. Beyond those walls is a stream that draws out into the ocean north of the continent. As the unstable bridge is crossed, Castle Gawain is found.
The castle is named for a powerful general of old, General Gawain. He was feared above all generals during his time, as being ruthless and bloodthirsty. He wielded an axe of incredible power, and he fought like a demon, as it was said. But one day, in the midst of a massive battle, he died from a sniper attack; an arrow shot directly though a break in his armor, and he bled to death. Since then, the castle was abandoned...or so it seemed.
Nightly, anyone who comes near the castle hears strange noises inside. The sounds of armor clanking, swords clashing. While the castle itself was once a tourist attraction, the idea was abandoned, when the police were unable to, after years of investigation, track down the whereabouts of over thirty tourists who vanished in the castle. No blood. No prints. No sign that they ever existed.
