~Basic Information~
It is a fast world of snaking grass, dominated by ocean on one side, marsh on another, desert to the north, and forest to the east. These surrounding conditions (along with the great mother river which runs near through its center) makes it a center for animals of all sorts.
The majority of the animals that live here are small, but there are a few overpowering animals that take serious command of the world. These are merely herbavores, but overpower the dragons in size, and are often made into a suitable meal. For this reason the dragons of the plains tend to be more social, hunting in packs for their food as their prey here is significantly larger than those they can take down alone.
Most of the year the plainslands remains dry, with subtle rain. Most often during the summer large thunderstorms will break out. These hardly ever bring any moisture, but lightning that will often strike fires that will spread quickly across the dying grass. Winter brings freezing temperatures and harsh winds not blocked out by standing trees.
However, despite all this, the fall and spring months can be quite relaxing, especially by the riverbeds where the grass stays green all through the year.
~Settlements~
There are small villages all along the river side stretching from the desert and down to the ocean, where a great city reaches out at its edge. The people there specialize in trading as they have the perfect ocean access and flat ground all the way up to their desert counterparts.
The river can be used as a perfect export for goods as well, as it is mellow down most of its winding paths. People in the plainslands prosper, feeding mostly off of fish. They have little care for the outside world, unless it involves something shiny. So, as a general rule, they are a peaceful people.
Few live in the plains itself, but those that do find near nothing to eat. They are violent and are contstantly on war terms with one another. Certain tribes take prides in their rituals, and they rarely venture to the river or ocean-sides to trade. The ocean and the river settlers find these plainsdwellers barbaric and the two groups avoid each other at all costs.
