I can't choose between Juri and Anthy, but I clicked the Juri button on the poll. I love Juri because she's very elegant and mature, and also because she's aggressive. She keeps most of the student body at bay just by looking at them. I especially liked that scene with her telling the teacher that he had other lunch dates. She also has a very dry sense of humor, which I love, and then she has a lighter, more teasing sense of humor which we see her use with Miki.
Along with that, she's akward about dealing with people she really cares about. Whenever she wants to discuss something important with Shiori, she sort of slows down and loses a lot of her formidable presence. It's endearing, and I sympathize with it in a way. I also like how insecure she really is, and her struggle to overcome her attatchment to Shiori. (While at the same time, she probably hopes that there's still a chance.)
And her boingy curls rock. xd

I don't normally say omg, but..... OMG o.o Utena! *melts into a puddle of goo at the sight of her* WaAAAAaaaAa......
^^; yeah, Utena's my favorite character without a doubt. There's just something about her, and I haven't quite really placed it yet. I know it seems obvious to like the main character, but really, Utena has head spot in my imaginary anime harem.

I love Utena. She is pure and good and righteous. Okay, not all the time, but she damn well tries. And she keeps her head up and keeps going no matter what. She's not going to mope and stay stagnant. There are people worse off than me, people I have to save! She doesn't let things get her down. I normally go with characters who have a lot of unexplored depth, but Utena is an exception. She's just plain awesome.
I also like Anthy though, for completely different reasons. She's witchy and mysterious. She's probably thousands of years old, and yet hides everything behind a mask. We find out she's been hiding so much by the series end. There are depths there to explore. How good is she really? How bad is she really? There are so many facets one can portray.
Although, oddly enough, I don't really like Utena/Anthy. But that's because most of the time its portrayed as, "Everything is a perfect field of roses and sugar and whipped cream and cute puppies since we left Ohtori! Let's have schmoopy love sex! We love each other every moment and everything is PEERRRRFECT!" The happy. It is like poison to me. Once things end happily, to me, that's the end. There is no conflict, so there is no story. Why should I bother? *shrug*

Ah, my favorite female character? Tough decision, but I clicked Juri on the poll. Still, Utena and Nanami follow suit.
The fearsome, imposing, predatory, and beautiful swordswoman that is Juri Arisugawa xd heart Wow, what can I say other than I love her? Juri has so many sides to her, like a complicated little puzzle. Her dry wit and cynical humor always makes me chuckle too. But Juri is that tragic prince who's been jaded by life, and someone I can really empathize with. She wants what she can't have, and she guards her broken heart - refusing to let it mend. I admire her for being strong enough to withstand all that emotional misery, but at the same time my heart breaks because of what she puts herself through. (Closet issues - Crushing on straight girls suck. stare ) Part of me just wants to melt the Ice Queen sweatdrop But Juri is my tragic anti-hero.
I like Utena because she was able to pull through after facing a really tough time in her life. Then she decided she'd live with high goals and doesn't let her past problems get to her. She sticks to what she believes in (though sometimes blindly) and I admire that strength in her.
Nanami. xd This is more of a sadistic kind of love. Her antics have kept me rather amused throughout the series.

I always have to pick Juri, because well... if she was someone I knew in real life, I'd probably be her biggest stalker, regardless of how many times she kicked my a**. xd heart
You have a point with Nanami though, she was my favorite when I first heard aobut the series and didn't know anything about Juri. I love petulant, attention-seeking characters and Nanami fits the role perfectly. xd In a way, she reminds me a little of Roxie Hart from Chicago, who is also one of my favorite characters in general.
I guess I tend to like jealous/angsty, volatile female characters the best.

As much as Juri kicks all a**, and as such a cool way of flying around the dueling arena with those insanely bouncy curls...
I have to say Nanami. She made me laugh so much during the series, she was absolutely perfect! Without her comic relief and insane antics, the series would be much drier and angsty. She added a whole new element to the mix.

 [♥].I couldn't be your Prince.[♥]Juri is a character that I love completely, because she reminds me quite a lot of myself in some ways.
Juri herself is almost the anti-Utena---or rather, the woman that Utena might have become if she had decided to affect nobility for more selfish reasons. Juri is a broken character who keeps refusing to break--not realizing that she's fighting against something that's already happened to her.
Also, Anthy.
I really enjoy Anthy's spiteful moments, which are so veiled that they really do seem like accidents the first time you watch the series. She's almost like the Akio to Utena's Dios. If that makes any sense.
