I like Miki too... But for me it's sort of a tie between him and Tsuwabuki. I like Miki because of his weird relationship with his sister and for the fact that he's Juri's only real friend, but I love Tsuwabuki's antics to get Nanami to notice him. I never thought about it before, but he's a lot like a male Nanami, but less snotty. sweatdrop

I like Miki too, although not as much as I used to. I was still in the fangirl phase back then. ^^;

Lately, I've taken an unusual interest in Touga. In real life, I would absolutely hate the b*****d. But when I saw the scene in the church, something about child Touga was definitely...off. It was like he was never childlike, always a serious and logical adult. It's as if he never had any innocence to take. We get very little of his inner thoughts, which allows me to think of theories galore. There are so many questions. How did Touga seem so sure that something eternal would come along after them? Why is Touga never really childlike? Did he really change towards the end, and to what extent? The movie only leads to more questions and theories. I like Touga because I can pick him apart, which I love doing.

Second is Ruka. I think perhaps some of the things he did were a bit misguided, but in the end I can't blame him for it. And I believe he was selfless. I'll resist the urge to go on about theories and crap. ^^; OF course, I technically like all of the characters. Even Akio. Yes, I can even sympathize with him. But I spend more time on Touga simply because there's more room to explore.

Ah Miki my love...how I adore thee! So cute, smart, and kind...what's not to love? Yes he had his flaws, but I love all the quirks in his character. He was so different from the other duelists, it made me sad to see him get manipulated so much.

Favorite male character is really a tie between Ruka and Mikage. They're both short lived but... I dunno, I love them both ^_^;

Mikage and Nemuro Hall. I loved his story and past. His character is just... xd so tragic and awesome! Same goes for Ruka. Ironic anti-heroes crying heart

Another character I like is Akio. Well actually, to be totally honest I hated him... untill the last episode when he said... (spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't seen episode 39 o_O wink

Akio: I used to think that sincerity was valuable...
Akio: ...and that it was the one and only way to change the world.
Akio: But sincerity by itself changes nothing.
Akio: Without power, one finds themself merely depending on others to live.
Akio: I've taken enough risks to buy the power to change the world.
Akio: That's how the world works

Couldn't agree with you more, Akio :/
(wtf I hope I dont sound psychotic for agreeing. XD wink

Yay, Mikage! He is winning!

I find Mikage to be my favorite because out of all the other male characters in the series, he is the most used and abused. While a genius in mental tasks, he has no social intelligence almost.

And that just brings out the 'Aww" factor in me.

[].I couldn't be your Prince.[]

Ruka.

Ruka gets so little time, and still manages to convey so much emotion.

He comes off as this cruel b*****d that's in it to just "have fun with his campus life", but we all know the reality of his motives. I like him because he's not purely moral or purely noble. He wants to help Juri, but he also wants to hurt Shiori, and that's something I admire, even if it seems a little sick. We're always getting told that the good guy doesn't want to hurt anyone, but I think that if someone practically destroyed the person I loved, I would want to cause them some issues,too.

Also, his relationship with Juri is one sided, and pretty love-hate. He might love her to pieces, but she still just sees him as a kind of mentor, and hates him for what he does to Shiori.

And I'm a sucker for the love-hate.

I really, really am.

And Akio.

Because Akio is just. So. Cool.

And also, because I pity him.

He can't be contented with simplicity, and he has left behind all vestiges of goodness. Worse, he knows it. And I believe he will never be capable of happiness because of it. Certainly, there are moments when Akio is enjoying himself at the expense of others, or when he is amused by the actors in the play he has devised, but is he happy? I don't think so.

Akio just always gave off this sense of sinful melancholy for me. It's like, 'I can have everything and everyone I want, and at the end of the day, I'm still second to the sun.'

"The star that was originally an angel, but chose to become the Devil.
If you look up from this earth, it's always by the Sun.
And unless the Sun sinks, it can never shine.
And what do you suppose it thinks when it does shine?"

Too right, Akio. Too right.

Poor guy.

All his machinations, all his time and effort, and in the end, it's just as Anthy says---he can only survive by playing the Prince in Ohtori. There is nothing else for him.
