So.. I was at a Highschool tournie last saturday... And my hip gave out in the 2nd to last bout I had. My coach was yelling at me to stop advancing and just parry repost... 'Course, I have trouble doing that... I mean... I use my speed to my advantage ALL the time. My hip hurt so bad. :[ Then afterwards I had a dance to go to.... Yay for highheels... omg, I almost died. But not really. Haha... I've had a lot of caffine. o.o

I used to have the same problem, I'ld advance and then advance more, using my speed to put an opponent on their heels. I also played football. Injuring my knee (nothing serious but it knocked me out of a few games) was horrible for me as a running back but it forced me to learn to use my dexterity to my advantage and so only helped me as a fencer.

Just another reason to learn and practice with foil on a regular basis. Foil is the best way to learn good blade work!

I'm wondering if training in different weapons would help people become better fencers in another...
For example, my coach made us all start with foil to learn the basics...now I fence sabre (I don't remember fencing foil at all though xd )
But I was wondering if doing foil or epee practice once in a while would help with different things like point control or something? ^^()
I really don't know x.x

Foil is the basis for all truly intricate bladework.

Foil is the best way to learn good blade work! sry, personally, i would think not. i find foil bladework to uaually be very large with ur point usually in the air or aimed at ur opponents forehead, and in foil, usually theres a lot of hand exposure...not good for epee! xd
