Okay, so I'm trying to finish a self- portrait that is to be entered in an upcoming art competition. Everything is going well except that I've drawn a complete blank on the background. In the picture, I look either lost in thought, or just plainly lifeless.
Basically, I'm stuck. Does anyone have some suggestions? Anything at all would help tremendously to get out of this artist's block.

True, but at the moment my digital camera isn't working and the paper is too big to fit in the scanner.

It looks great. YOu wanted ideas forbackground? Iunno, may seem cliche' but I am picturing a flower garden... or a cherry blossom tree.

The Competition was yesterday. The self- portrait didn't got to state, but it did get fours!! =)

hmm u could of also defined or darkened the eye(s) a bit more to emphasize ur look. yes i agree on a foreground also.... again, maybe a smirk would make ur look more cheery also n_n [jus a thought]
