Rift City is a grand city located under the gaze of a lonely mountin in 2026. A time when advanced tech was being intoduce to the everyday life of the average world. The city is the first of it's kind, and a test to see if hightech cities wont cuase more damage than it helps. The city itself is partly graffited into the mountin.
On the outside ( which covers the northern base and side of the mountin) is devoted to living areas. It has schools, parks, houseing, zoos, and everything a basic modern town would have. But inside the mountin is a different picture. It is filled with tall buildings , clubs, labs, restruants, market stores, and even weapon shops. All of which have state of the art items. The town is completely tech, fromit's moving side walks, to it's self driving cars, and it's many robots of all shapes and sizes. It is the complete oppisite of the outside part of Rift City.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly, the people lived and relaxed outside, and worked and did research on the inside. But soon, like everytime such perfect places come up, things begun to go wrong. Futuristic componets went missing form labs and research centers. Then latter, a group of renagades had been found to be stealing these things.
They had no name, but they new what they were doing with what they stole. They created new age battle armor and weapons. They refered to their stolen and upgraded tech as Choas tech. And their lead was a genious and power crazy man named Kritz Malcof.
He came very close to takeing over Rift City and useing it's technology for world conquest. But something unforeseeable happened, Kritz was murder by his right hand man. This mans name has never be given, but he calls himself Coretech. He was even more intellegent and devieus than Kritz, which scared the local cops and government. They prepared for war themselves, but the attack the expected from Coretech never came. The renagades had dissappeared, and life seemed to drift back to normal.
Things became more advanced, and it seemed the Rift City project, as the government called it, was a success. The government was days away from beinging plans for more cities like Rift City, but then Coretech came out of hidding and destroyed an intire resreach facility. But this time the govenment was ready for him. They had created better defence tech, and a new police force (Tech Cops) dedicated to destroying Cortech and his now dubbed Geonuls.
But they weren't able to hold of the Geonuls for very long. Everytime they developed better weapons and defences, the Geonuls seemed to have the perfect counter Choas Tech. Then a vigilanty group calling themselves the Rifters, fought back against the Geonuls. They helped beat back the Geonuls into a stalemate between them and the government.
But the government saw them as a problem with the people. It made they made the tech cops look like idiots who needed all the help they copuld get. Now the govenment has decided to try and rid themselves of the Geonuls and the Rifters, even if it means they lose Rift City.

Appearance: Max wears a tight black undershirt and dark brown pants. He has a black leather chest jacket that reads "TECH JUNKY" on the back. He wears thin rimmed glasses and a silver chain and cross.

Speacial: Max is a Tech expert. He loves to design and redisgn the newest Tech and has lended his skills to the Rifter cuase. His invensions include the XK-46 Handgun that fires a burst of then nail rounds that can peirce even the toughest armor; the PTY- Hover Cycle or the 'Lancet' which he modified from the Tech Cops hover cycle; and he is currently working on protective armor he calls Gear.
Bio: Max's father was a project designer and had a large part in building Rift City. He was murdered four years ago by the Genuls in one of their earlier assuslts for tech. Max inherited his fathers love for new age tech, but he likes to put a next gen spin on it. He hopes that his tech someday aids in the destruction of those who killed his father.
Tech: His own upgraded XK-46 and proto-gear.

Max sat on a bench next to a park in outter Rift City. His laptop showed a body figure with numbers crossing the screen. He lookeed up at the clouds and sighed. He closed the laptop and walked over to the motorcycle he had. He slipped his laptop into a hoster as he sped off towards a tunnel that seemed to go through the mountain. He pulled up to the check point and showed his citizen card to the guards. The gate lifted and he sped through.
As he passed into the tunnel, he pressed a small green button on his dash and the bike's faded into two bright green and sivler disks that didn't touch the ground. His seat leaned forward and the paintjob became a slick chrome black. The hover cycle turned down an alleyway and stoped over a grate in the pavement. The grate flipped over and Max was gone.
Below the street several more hover cycles lined the parking grid. Two men came out to greet Max as he headed to the elevator. One handed him a small disk that he put into his wrist watch. A small man was projected from the watch in a goshtly white light. *Major. You are to report to the thrid level research lab ASAP. We wish to test you Proto-Gear. I will be waiting for you.*

Max sat in the ready room. The test was about to begin and he decided to be the feild tester himself. He looked at the skin tight body suit he wore. It felt like it was his skin, exactly as it should. The tiny nano-bots inside the suit had attached themselves to his nervesytem and already begun to collect data on his bio's and monitor it's own function.
As the large steel doors opened, Max stepped forward. He gave the thumbs up to the pannel of onlookers and readied himself. Somewhere a switch was flipped and several large attack bots emerged from the opposite end of the testing field. Max got ready as his mental locks activated the ProtoGear.

Max had blasted each target with a beam rifle that had configured on his arm. His right arm was now fixxed with tech armor and ended in a rifle sheilding his hand. The was a low whirring sound as the rest of his body was covered in a similar light weight tech armor suit. The green suit shone in the light as tweenty men filled the room fireing.
The reg bullets the used bounced of the gear as the rifle on Max's arm switched to a light mini gun. The gun shot several paint balls at the attackers untill each was covered in red paint. Finally a Mech came out. Max readied himself for the battle when the mech fired a small missle at the board of on lookers. Max swore as afew geonuls entered the area shooting the at Max with spike bullets. "Damn." Max swore as his arm returned to the rifle mode.

Max rolled as the MECH fired a low pusle beam. The ground split where it touched. Max turned and fired his beam rifle at the ceiling over the Mech. The beam penertrated the roff and made it collapse ontop of the Mech. Max then began to fire on the other Geonuls as their attention was divided between him and the guards now rushing in.

Max was pinned in a corridor by several geonuls. He fired his arm gun sending spikes all over the corridor. Several Geonuls had been impaled against the walls while others had ducked intime. " Damn. Where is my backup!?" he asked as his radio came on again. * This is MAx. Request backup! We cannot allow the suit to be lost to the Geonuls! Any Rifters in the area report to the Testing Area! NOW!* he yelled as another spike volley shattered the hall.

When the smoke grenade cleared, Max peered around the corner and saw a man there. "Who goes there?" he shouted as his suit began scaning the profile of the man he saw. In the background of his radio, he heard a surrender call from a Geonul Mec that was standing next to the downed one in the arena. Meanwhile, a Geonul Transport was heading towards the arena from the outside; it was carrying more Geonuls to take the suit.
