ntroduction ------------ Thunder Plains is located north of Guadosalam, and south of Makalania Forest. It is a place which consists of 3 sections/screens: A southern part, northern part and Outside the Travel Company. Thunderbolts strike very often here so towers were built to _absorb_ the lightning. But not all thunderbolts are being _absorbed_ by the lightning, and they strike to the ground. So travellers who are not near the tower to avoid bolts are likely to be striked by these bolts.
How to avoid the thunderbolts ----------------------------- During your very first time at Thunder Plains, there will be a tutorial about how to avoid the thunderbolt when it strikes. When the thunderbolt is about to strike, your television screen will flash and it will come shooting down followed by a thunder sound. To avoid the bolt, simply press down the O button (JP Version) or the X button (US Version) when the screen is flashing and you will be able to dodge the lightning bolt.
In my opinion, it's better to avoid the bolts as you walk along Thunder Plains as: - it won't give you a bad record of the times that you were striked by the bolts - you'll be pushed back one or two steps when you're striked by the bolts, thus encounters will be increased
The Mini-game ------------- This game is all about dodging the thunderbolts. The more thunderbolts you dodge, the better the prize is. This mini-game is avaliable once you reached Thunder Plains.
The prizes for the bolt dodging are:
.-------------------------------.------------------------------. | Number of Consecutive Times | Prize | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 5 | X-Potion x 2 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 10 | Mega Potion x 2 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 20 | MP Sphere x 2 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 50 | Strength Sphere x 3 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 100 | HP Sphere x 3 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 150 | Megalixir x 4 | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 200 | Venus Sigil | .-------------------------------.------------------------------.
.-------------------------------.------------------------------. |Total Number of bolts undodged | Prize | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 30 | Ether | .-------------------------------.------------------------------. | 80 | Elixir | .-------------------------------.------------------------------.
Prepare yourself ---------------- Although you can start this mini-game before obtaining the Airship, I think that you should start it after obtaining the Airship. Why? Because Cleansing Salts are only easily avaliable after you obtained the Airship. Collect 30 Clenasing Salts and equip it to your weapon gives you the [Encounter-None] ability. With this, you can be free from those annoying battles when you're playing this mini-game.
Q. How do you get Cleansing Salt? A. These are the possible ways of getting Cleansing Salt. I've made a data for this item.
Sample ------ .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Item name | Description | .-------.--------.-------------------------.---------------------------. | Buy | Sell | Ability in weapon/armor | Ability for Aeons | .-------.--------.-------------------------.---------------------------. | Steal/Mug | Monster's name(No. of items), Monster's name(Rare) | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Dropped | Monster's name, Monster's name(Rare) | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Bribe | Monster's name(Amt. of gil= No. of items) | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Treasure Chest | Place to obtain the chest | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Training Fac. | Which Zone/Race conquered (No. of items) | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------. | Mini-game | The name of game | .----------------.-----------------------------------------------------.

For the Monster Arena, you need: >>> Vouivre [Mi'hen Highroad] x4 >>> Lamashtu [Mushroom Rock Road] x4 >>> Kusariqqu [Thunder Plains] x4 >>> Mushussu [Sanubia Desert] x4 >>> Nidhogg [Cavern of the Stolen Fayth or Mt. Gagazet] x4
in order to get 99 Cleansing Salts.
Getting the Cleansing Salt -------------------------- Q. It's too troublesome, I want an easier way. A. Another way of getting [Encounter-none] is defeating Demonolith, which is located in Omega Ruins and Inside Sin, but dropping the weapon for encounter none is rare.
I've constructed a data for Demonolith.
.--------------------.-------------.--------.--------.-------.-------.-------.-------. | | HP | Attack | Magic | Fire |Thunder| Water | Ice | | Demonolith .-------------.--------.--------.-------.-------.-------.-------. | | 45000 | 33 | 99 | Half | Half | Half | Half | .--------------------.-------------.--------.--------.-------.-------.-------.-------. | AP | Overkill | Gil |Capture |Special| Location | .--------------------.-------------.--------.--------.-------.-----------------------. | | | | | | Inside Sin | | 11000 | Unknown | 1400 | Yes | - | / | | | | | | | Omega Ruins | .--------------------.-------------.--------.--------.-------.-----------------------. | Guard | Death/Zombie/Petrify/Poison/Confuse/Berserk/Provoke/Sleep | .--------------------.---------------------------------------------------------------. | | Normal Attack(Zombie-Single) | | Attacks | Breath(Petrify-All) | | | Paraoh's Curse(Poison/Silence/Blind) | .--------------------.---------------------------------------------------------------. | Steal | Stone Grenade x2/Stone Grenade x2 | .--------------------.---------------------------------------------------------------. | Dropped | Mana Sphere/Lv 3 Key Sphere | .--------------------.---------------------------------------------------------------. | Bribe | Lv 3 Key Sphere x40 (900000 gil) | .--------------------.-------------------------------.-------------------------------. | Dropped Equipments | Weapon Ability | Armor Ability | .--------------------.-------------------------------.-------------------------------. | | | Stoneproof | | 3 to 4 Slots | Stone Touch | / | | | | Encounter None | .--------------------.-------------------------------.-------------------------------.
Q. Is there another way of getting an equipment with "Encounter-none" ability? A. Of course. Go defeat Geosgeano in Baaj Temple. The Baaj Temple is located in X-16 Y-57. After defeating this monster, it might drop a weapon(yes a weapon) with the "Encounter-None" ability.
Q. Ahh! Geosgeano keeps halving Tidus' HP!! I don't have enough potions!! Tidus is too weak to attack it!! A. ---____________--- Please only defeat it after you obtain the Airship. You can never beat it when you encounter it early in the game unless you used Gameshark etc. You'll get nothing even though you used gameshark as there will not be no screen of the items obtained after defeating the monster....
Q. Now I've got the [Encounter-none]. What should I do now? A. Start the mini-game!
Q. I couldn't dodge for 200 times! I can only dodge for xxx times! A. I have this experience before and what I could tell you is to try and keep trying. Practice makes perfect!
***Well, I have some tips to guide you through this dodging game.
Tips ----
1)Choose a suitable place to dodge the lightning. ------------------------------------------------- Thunderbolts strike in different parts of the area and the frequency of bolts striking is different too. Some strike in single bolts, double bolts or even triple bolts. The place with triple bolts indicated is the highest frequency, which means the bolts strike down every 3-7 seconds. Staying in the Triple bolts area to dodge will save more time than dodging in the double or the single bolt area.
In my opinion, I think the best place to dodge is at [Thunder Plains=Northern part]. There is a Triple Bolt area at the southern tip of the Northern Part, which leads to the Travel Company if you go further south. So you need not run from one end to another to dodge and claim your prize.
o----------------Thunder Plains - Nothern Part Map----------------o | / X XX / | | / | | | | | / | | XX | | | _/ / ______________________ | | / / / Legend | | / | | ------ | | | | / | X - Single Bolt | | | (O) / | XX - Double Bolt | | | __| | XXX - Triple Bolt | | | XXX / | (O) - Tower | | | __ | | A - To the Travel | | | | / | | | Company | | | | / | | | B - To [Thunder | | | | / | | Plains=Southern | | | | | | B _ | Part] | | | | A | | ____/ ______________________/ | | ----- |___/ | | | | | o-----------------------------------------------------------------o
*I hope this map helps*
Alternative Way: ---------------- Submitted by Pip Theres a ridge near the second quactaur stone in the third area. If you wedge Tidus in between the stone and the ridge you can dodge the bolts easily and you dont have to worry about being pushed back. Also I think you should tell people to take a break every 10-20 bolts dodged,it helped me smile
2)Choose a suitable time ------------------------ Yep. Choose a suitable time. Not the time in FFX, it's your real-life time. Time is one of the _important_ factors. When do you think you're most alert? Morning? Afternoon? Night? Or even Midnight? Why do you need to be alert? If you're not alert enough, you might be striked during your xxxth dodging, and you'll have to restart.
Another reason for choosing a suitable time is: Concentration. You need to concentrate in order to dodge the lightning. You can't be watching cartoons and dodging at the same time. Choose a time which is the most quiet. If it is too noisy, your concentration may decrease. Another tip is choose a dark night or a very early morning to play this mini game. Why? The flash before the bolt strikes is white. So you could immediately notice this and press the appropriate button at the right time. A bright sky might decrease your alert-ness.
3)Don't _fly away_ ------------------ What does it mean? Don't let your mind wander around. Concentrate! Or else....
4)Well....Can I save in between dodges? That'll make an easier job. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately, No. It'll be a really easy job if saving is possible. Saving or entering the Travel Agency during your dodging game will reset the dodge counter.
5)Can I keep on getting the same prize or are they only one-time items? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think so. There is no way you can get another Venus Sigil when you've gotten one. I was striked during my 64th dodging the very first time I played this mini-game and I collected the prize from the starting. When I tried this sidequest again after I obtain the airship, I managed to dodge 200 bolts and the prize I collected was starting the 100th dodging. From this I can conclude that the prizes for dodging are only one-time items.
6)What about the items that the Travel Agency gave when you're striked by the bolt? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well....I've only been striked a total of 30+ times, so I do not know. But, the number of times you're striked by the lightning will not reset so I think they're one-time item too. Who knows when the =being striked counter= will reset?
Obtaining Spirit Lance (Longinus) --------------------------------- Spirit Lance(aka Longinus) is Kimahri's Ultimate Weapon. To obtain it, you'll have to pray at 3 Cactuar statues in Thunder Plains. Cactuar Statues are located all over Thunder Plains. You must pray to the statues with a spirit_floating around it. Otherwise, nothing will happen. Pray to the statues by pressing the |_| (Square) button. Then you'll have to find another statue with a spirit floating around it. After praying again, repeat the above steps again for the last time. Then you should see a faint cactuar spirit walking towards something. Follow it(or do it yourself) to the Southern Part of the Plains and pray to the _fallen tower?_. You'll obtain the Spirit Lance.
Note: Please obtain the Celestial Mirror before opening the chest. The mirror can be obtained by doing the Macalania Forest Sidequest afetr obtaining the airship. So I don't wish to receive mails asking me : Why can't I open the chest??? -.-"" If you have queries of obtaining the mirror, you can consult CB!'s Ultimate Weapons Guide in GameFAQs.
Shop List --------- I've constructed a shop list so that you can made a decision whether to buy these equipment/items, or not.

- In Story Level 5, go to Thunder Plains - Do the mission by destroying all monsters by the Thunder Towers - Then Defeat Behemoth King - Get into the cave and save Cid by defeating the boss - From this time on, you can get back to the cave whenever you want
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Accessory 'Taima No Udewa' (Exorcist Bracer) - Pencil, pen or anything to write with - Papers or anything you can write on - Calculator or use your brain
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The walls are opened in orders.
- Wall # 3 - Wall # 10 - Wall # 11 - Wall # 5 - Wall # 1 - Wall # 8 - Wall # 12 - Wall # 13 - Wall # 9 - Wall # 6 - Wall # 7 - Wall # 14 - Wall # 2 - Wall # 15 (tends to be the difficult one) - Wall # 16 - Wall # 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By equipping 'Taima No Udewa' (Exorcist Bracer), you won't get any battle. Not only that saves you from time to time, but also calculation and let alone the calculation errors.
With No Encounter, your Amount of Gil is always 0, and so is the Battle Number.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Daiya No Kote (Diamond Gauntlet) - Haipaarisuto (Hyper Wrist) - Shinpi No Vuleeru (Mysterious Veil) - Abareru No Kokoroe (Knowledge of Rage) - Tarisuman (Talisman) - Secret Of Non-Defeat - Result Plate 'Promised Healing' - Zokusei ou (Attribute King)
*
- 'Secret Of Non-Defeat' is a Key Item for Paine's Special Dress Sphere's Break HP Limit - It gets to be passed on in New Game Plus
- To get Zokusei ou (Attribute King), you need to clear the New Cave twice
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The whole cave contains 16 walls to open and you open them by entering the correct # - For most of the time, you have to use the map and follow the red arrow - You can also get hints by pressing 'Square' but up to 3 times - Write the number for each wall down after you open it. Even though you could check it, but you don't want to walk all the way and check it every time - The numbers are random each time - To open each wall, you add the number on lower right corner from previous screen and the number on top left corner of the current screen
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Number Of The Answer Of A Particular Wall - Given - Amount Of Gil Gained From One Point To Another (If you have No Encounter, It's always 0) - Number Of Battle Fought (If you have No Encounter, It's always 0)
- Add Numbers Together And These Numbers Could Come From The Above Ways
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't get it? Here is an example:
---------------------------------
>> A
B
C >> D
---------------------------------
>> E
F
G >> H
---------------------------------
- So for the current wall, to open it, add D {from previous screen} and F (current screen)
- Still don't get it? Here is a full example of the actual cave:
---------------------------------
>> Begin
Nothing
3 >>
3
* This is something you are given to begin with
---------------------------------
Wall # 3
>> 3
1
10 >>
4
- Hence 1 (From Current Screen) + 3 (From Previous Screen) = 4
- Enter 4 to open the wall
---------------------------------
Wall # 10
>> 10
68
11 >>
53
- Hence 68 + 4 = 72
- Enter 72 to open the wall
---------------------------------
Wall # 11
>> 11
897
5 >>
Answer of Wall # 10
- Hence 897 + 53 = 950
---------------------------------
Wall # 5
>> 5
912
1 >>
Related To # Of Battles Fought
- Hence 912 + 72 (Answer of Wall # 10) = 984
---------------------------------
Wall # 1
>> 1
Answer of Wall # 5
8 >>
547
- Hence 984 (Answer of Wall # 5) + 0 (Since it's related To # Of Battles Fought and you have 'No Encounter', It's always 0)
---------------------------------
Wall # 8
>> 8
Answer of Wall # 11 + Related To # Of Battles Fought
12 >>
Answer of Wall # 10 + Answer of Wall # 10
- Hence 950 (Answer of Wall # 11) + 0 + 547
---------------------------------
Wall # 12
>> 12
376
13 >>
3570
- Hence 376 + 72 (Answer of Wall # 10) + 72 + (Answer of Wall # 10)
---------------------------------
Wall # 13
>> 13
8788
9 >> Related To # Of Battles Fought
- Hence 8788 + 3570
---------------------------------
Wall # 9
>> 9
Answer of Wall # 13
6 >>
Answer of Wall # 11 + Answer of Wall # 5
- Hence 12358 (Answer of Wall # 13) + 0
---------------------------------
Wall # 6
>> 6
Answer of Wall # 11 + 6442
7 >>
Answer of Wall # 9 + Related To # Of Battles Fought
- Hence 950 (Answer of Wall # 11) + 6442 + 950 (Answer of Wall # 11) + 984 (Answer of Wall # 5)
---------------------------------
Wall # 7
>> 7
Related To Amount Of Gil Gained

Answer of Wall # 11 + Answer of Wall # 9
- Hence 0 (Related To Amount Of Gil Gained; Becasue you have No Encounter and haven't fought any battle, so it's always 0) + 12358 (Answer of Wall # 9) + 0 (Related To # Of Battles Fought)
---------------------------------
Wall # 14
>> 14
Answer of Wall # 1
2 >>
32752
- Hence 984 (Answer of Wall # 1) + 950 (Answer of Wall # 11) + 12358 (Answer of Wall # 9)
---------------------------------
Wall # 2
>> 2
Related To # Of Battles Fought
15 >>
Answer of Wall # 6 + Related To # Of Battles Fought + Related To Amount Of Gil Gained
- Hence 0 + 32752
---------------------------------
Wall # 15
>> 15
17348 + 32567 + Related To Amount Of Gil Gained
16 >>
801
- Hence 17348 + 32567 + 0 + 9326 (Answer of Wall # 6) + 0 + 0
---------------------------------
Wall # 16
>> 16
631

- Hence 631 + 801 ---------------------------------
Wall # 4
>> 4
0
End >>
N/A
- Hence 0 + 1
---------------------------------
Recall: Answer For Each Wall (Of This Particular Example Only)
- Wall # 3 - 4 - Wall # 10 - 72 - Wall # 11 - 950 - Wall # 5 - 984 - Wall # 1 - 984 - Wall # 8 - 1497 - Wall # 12 - 520 - Wall # 13 - 12358 - Wall # 9 - 12358 - Wall # 6 - 9326 - Wall # 7 - 12358 - Wall # 14 - 14292 - Wall # 2 - 32752 - Wall # 15 - 59241 - Wall # 16 - 1432 - Wall # 4 - 1
- Now think of how difficult and complicate this could be if you don't have No Encounter

|=======================| | Final Fantasy X-2 | |-----------------------| Thunder Calibration FAQ
======================================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------ (THUNDER CALIBRATION WALKTHROUGH) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ========================================================================
This special Mini Game can be accessed during Chapter 2 in the game and can be played through Chapter 3. This game will end in Chapter 4, so plan carefully if you want to do this or not.
To start this game, you must head to the Thunder Plains in Chapter 2 or 3. Talk to the Al Bhed Technician(by the first tower)twice to start this game.
Whats the purpose of doing this you ask....
Well, you get certain prizes in Chapter 5 depending on how many times you Calibrated a Tower.
It seems I'm skipping ahead of myself. Lets get down to the basics on how to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- ======================================================================= (CALIBRATION BASICS/HOW TO PLAY) ======================================================================= -----------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IS A CALIBRATION?:
Throughout this guide, you'll probably hear talk about, "Calibrate the tower 'x' number of times. What this means, is that one command you insert correctly, accounts for ONE successful calibration. Once you've inserted 30 commands into the tower, that counts as a successful calibration, and is known as being "calibrated 30 times". Hopefully, this clears up any confusion with this whole issue.
INTRO:
Your goal is to get the Generators up and going. To do that, you'll have to enter a series of randomly generated commands. There are 30 of these commands. You'll have 3 chances per Calibration to complete the tower. If you miss 3 times, you'll have to re-do it.
NOTE: THE NUMBER OF MISSES AFFECT NOTHING TO YOUR CALIBRATION.
Once you calibrated a tower(by completing and inserting the 30 series of commands), you'll get a choice if you want to re-do it. If you already did it perfectly(by completing the 30 series of commands), no need to do it again.
If you fail the tower, try again if you like. The number of times that you fail on this tower have nothing to do to affect your calibration or your prizes.
There are 10 Towers in the Thunder Plains. The easiest to calibrate, are the towers on the South area(the beginning area). The hardest are on the North area of the Thunder Plains. With these towers, there are 3 Types of Calibration for each girl and each certain tower.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
RIKKU: The Appear and Disappear Calibration
Rikku's towers are self explainable from the title. The buttons will temporarily appear on the screen. Once they are on the screen, you must quickly press the combination on the screen to complete that sequence. Do each of Rikku's Towers 30 times to complete her Calibration. If you aren't fast enough, the command will disappear and will result in a miss.
|---------|-------------------|-----------------------------------------| |Tower # |Position on Screen |Buttons Pressed | |---------|-------------------|-----------------------------------------| |Tower #1 |Middle of Screen |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | |---------|-------------------|-----------------------------------------| |Tower #4 |13 Random Locations|X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | |---------|-------------------|-----------------------------------------| |Tower #7 |13 Random Locations|X, Circle, Triangle, Square, R1+L1, D-Pad| |---------|-------------------|-----------------------------------------|
NOTE: For Tower 7, A combination of 2 buttons will be pressed at the same time. If its not simaltaneously or near simaltaneous, it will count as a miss.
Tower 1 Tips:
-This will be easy, so not a lot of tips needed except keep your eye on screen and focus on the buttons. Keep clear of any distractions so you don't break concentration.
-The commands on screen will go faster when you advance in the series. In Tower 1, it will not be as fast as the rest, but it will go pretty fast. Prepare for this.
Tower 4 Tips:
-Again, focus, concentrate, and don't lose concentration or get let any distractions get in the way.
-Unlike the first tower, be prepared to look throughout the screen. When the commands start speeding up, you will have to pay attention to where the commands will be at(since its at random), because it won't be in the middle anymore.
Tower 7 Tips:
-This Tower is a Nightmare. Probably the hardest out of all the towers. Like the previous, do the same thing, but you'll have to get into it. Meaning, that you will have to be awake, concentrated, and be aware.
-The commands will move at a slow pace for a while. About halfway through, the buttons will speed up a bit, but not fast enough to lose concentration. Keep focus for about 10 more commands. Once your on the 25th command, it will be super fast and easy enough to break concentration.
In the early 20th commands, ready your hands so that you will be prepared to press whatever. Remember, that it will be 2 command buttons at the same time so be ready. If you focus on the screen enough, you will be able to see where the commands appear. BE SUPER QUICK since the commands will disappear every 1.5 seconds after the 25th command.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
PAINE: The Avalanche Calibration
Paine's calibration consists of the commands falling down in 3 rows, from top to bottom. There is a halfway mark where a command will flash. Once it flashes, you must press the exact button of the command that just flashed. You must press the exact command that flashed before the rows fall all the way to the bottom. Once it hits the bottom, or if you pressed the wrong button, it will be a miss. The speed will increase when you get further into the Calibration, so prepare for that.
Example: X, Square, Triange fall down. If Triangle flashes, you press the Triangle button.
|--------|--------------|--------------------------| |Tower # |Entries Number|Fall Speed of Entry Number| |--------|--------------|--------------------------| |Tower #2|0 to 10 = |Normal/Slow | | |11 to 15 = |Normal/Slow | | |16 to 25 = |Normal/Normal | | |26 to 30 = |Double Speed | |--------|--------------|--------------------------| |Tower #5|0 to 5 = |Normal/Slow | | |6 to 10 = |Normal/Slow | | |11 to 15 = |Normal/Normal | | |16 to 25 = |Double Speed | | |26 to 30 = |Double Speed | |--------|--------------|--------------------------| |Tower #8|0 to 5 = |Normal/Slow | | |6 to 15 = |Normal/Normal | | |16 to 25 = |Double Speed | | |26 to 30 = |Triple Speed | |--------|--------------|--------------------------|
|--------|--------------|---------------------------------------------| |Tower # |Entries Number|Buttons Pressed | |--------|--------------|---------------------------------------------| |Tower #2|0 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | | |11 to 15 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, Up/Down on D-Pad| | |16 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | |--------|--------------|---------------------------------------------| |Tower #5|0 to 5 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | | |6 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | | |11 to 15 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |16 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | |--------|--------------|---------------------------------------------| |Tower #8|0 to 5 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | | |6 to 15 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |16 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | |--------|--------------|---------------------------------------------|
Tower 2 Tips:
-Try to get the hang of this calibration. Once you do, it gets easier to master. You might want to try Calibrating this tower a few times to get the pattern. Once you do that, mastering the rest is easy.
-Once you got the pattern down, practice on locking and focusing on the halfway point. Get used to the flash and where prepare for the buttons. Once you get the hang of this, the rest of the towers are a snap.
Tower 5 Tips:
-Practice on Tower 2 and get used to this. Get down any patterns and get used to the new commands added. Practice a while on this tower to prepare for the last tower.
-Try to get the pattern down for this tower since it has new commands and speed. Get used to the speed, the new focus, and commands to complete the last tower with ease.
Tower 8 Tips:
-Not much new info, but you might lose a few times. Its great to lose on this tower because its a great chance to get used to the new fast speed. Not hard to win since the command application isn't new. Just get used to the new faster speed and focus near the middle to complete this tower with ease.
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE
------------------------------------------------------------------------
YUNA: The Forgotten Memories Calibration
I suppose your wondering why the calibration is called this. Well... for starters, the next towers consist of memory. The harder it gets, the more you'll forget the commands since it gathers up to much to confuse and make you forget.
Unlike the other Tower Calibrations, this one is a bit different. Yuna's Calibratin consists of 2 Phases. A Memory Phase, and an Input Phase.
The Memory Phase will have the command appear on the screen. It appears once at a time then that one will disappear while the new command appears. Your job in this phase is to remember all the commands listed in the sequence. The speed and number of commands will increase.
The Input phase is basically self explainable. You have to remember and input the commands that appeared in the Memory Phase. You do have a time limit, so be quick at inputting the sequences. If you input the wrong command, it will count as a miss.
|---------|---------------|-------------------| |Tower # |Entries Number |Number of Commands | |---------|---------------|-------------------| |Tower #3 |0 to 10 = |2 | | |11 to 25 = |3 | | |26 to 30 = |4 | |---------|---------------|-------------------| |Tower #6 |0 to 10 = |2 | | |11 to 25 = |3 | | |26 to 30 = |4 | |---------|---------------|-------------------| |Tower #9 |0 to 10 = |2 | | |11 to 20 = |3 | | |21 to 25 = |4 | | |26 to 30 = |5 | |---------|---------------|-------------------| |Tower #10|0 to 10 = |2 | | |11 to 15 = |3 | | |16 to 20 = |4 | | |21 to 25 = |5 | | |26 to 30 = |6 | |---------|---------------|-------------------|
|---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------| |Tower # |Entries Number |Buttons Pressed | |---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------| |Tower #3 |0 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | | |11 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square | |---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------| |Tower #6 |0 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | | |11 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, D-Pad | |---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------| |Tower #9 |0 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |11 to 20 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |21 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1, D-Pad | |---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------| |Tower #10|0 to 10 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1/R2/L2, D-Pad| | |11 to 15 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1/R2/L2, D-Pad| | |16 to 20 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1/R2/L2, D-Pad| | |21 to 25 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1/R2/L2, D-Pad| | |26 to 30 = |X, Circle, Triangle, Square, L1/R1/R2/L2, D-Pad| |---------|---------------|-----------------------------------------------|
Tower 3 Tips:
-Not many commands, so work on your memory a bit and you should be fine. Nothing to hard.
Tower 6 Tips:
-More commands, but again, nothing to hard. It will expand more, but not that hard to remember. You might wanna start placing your fingers on the buttons on the commands that appear during the Memory Phase to better the memory.
Tower 9 Tips:
-Repeat Tower 6 Tips. Only an Added command, nothing to hard. If you want or can, ask someone to assist you in Memory.
Tower 10 Tips:
-Something different about this Tower that makes it so hard.. Hmm... Oh Yeah, everything is reversed. Take a few times getting used to the reversed commands. If you want, use someone to assist you in memory, or write down the Commands that appear(use shortcut symbols that will help you understand to get the writing fast so you can pick up the controller afterwards) to make it easier. Be fast picking up the controller.
-Use your own key symbol to write them down quicker(example: T for triangle). You can also hold the controller in one hand while you use the other hand to write them down. With this, you can do it quickly with a fair exchange. Make sure you're focused on your notepad/paper after the input sequence.
-You can also repeat the sequences orally(say them out loud to yourself). If you have a fair memory and say them out and reverse the order, this could help you with this tower.

======================================================================= ----------------------------------------------------------------------- (TOWER CALIBRATION PRIZES) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- =======================================================================
In this section, it will cover the prizes you get when doing the Tower Calibration game. Each prize varies from the number of calibrations you have done on a tower. Another prize is obtained from participating in this game. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
SAMURAI HONOR GARMENT GRID: Obtained when you complete all 10 towers. 5 out of the 10 Towers must be calibrated. Misses do NOT affect this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------- TOWER CALIBRATION PRIZES: Each prize varies on the towers and the number of times you calibrated on a tower. You get these prizes during Chapter 5 during a mission. When you defeat certain fiends at the all the towers, a Treasure Chest will appear by the tower automatically after you defeated the fiend.
Heres a Chart to see what you get...

In this section, you can check here to view some of the most common questions asked to me. I'll post these up and in hoping that this section will help answer any questions you need on this Mini Game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Question: Do you have to do this for Completion Points?
Answer: No
Question: Is this required for Episode Complete?
Answer: No
Question: Wheres Lian and Ayde
Answer: No Relevance to my FAQ, but they are located in Chapter 3 when you are at the second area. Head to the Lightning Shelter to trigger a cutscene.
Question: I can't beat |Tower #|, can you help?
Question: Do I have to calibrate the tower 30 times to get a prize?
Answer: No, the tower gives you 30 commands to insert. You must correctly insert the commands(30 of them). Once you've inserted 30 commands onto one tower, that counts as a fully calibrated tower. For the prizes, you must insert the correct number of commands in order to get that prize. Misses do NOT affect anything.
Answer: Sure, just check the FAQ before asking this question. You'll have to keep trying. Take a look at the tips for more help.
