I wanted to pick up some distortion and chorus pedals for my bass. What would you say is the best company to buy from and also cheap, but effective and resiliant.

Let me illiterate. I'm willing to spend $100 + for one that I won't have to switch out. My brother plays guitar and he needs a new wah, distortion, & reverb.

osgood_schloter_boi i saw best and i thought of boss, but then you said cheap so i thought digitech confused But he wants reliable. Personally I have heard bad about both brands, yet I own one of each razz . I really like Boss's 3 in 1 pedal that they have. Treat it nice and you shouldn't have problems.

Anyways, back to the subject at hand, through my personal opinion, i'd say go with Boss. As long as you use the outlet plug, you should be set as my only complaint about Boss pedals is that they eat through 9v batteries like butter (even when they're not on). And trust me, that isn't a good thing.

Indeed, Boss seems to be the way to go. Though I only have a Boss tuner pedal, it's incredibly resiliant, despite being dropped/stomped on from a good height.
Still, get one of those AC Adapters, as 9v batteries are about $2.50 a piece, and an AC adapter more than makes up for the price.

oh thats right, dont get the digitech bp series multi-effects pedal i have one and every once in a while you have to recalibrate the wah expression. not only that but the wah will not work if it is not plugged in. but what really pisses me off is that it takes 6 AA bateries and the thing is so sensitive that if you push the button to hard it'll shut down. it is gay stare

I have never had any of those problems. And I use the adapter, not the batteries. If you dont have one, they cost about 10 bucks at guitar center.

Dude, I have a BP-50, a really, really cheap pedal, but I love it! The distortion is so ******** tight and together, it's great. I would NOT reccomend this for fingerstyle players though, or for people who hate boosting their treble.

Well i've got a Boss Bass Overdrive and Bass Chorus, Brilliant love em both, sound great together
all i'm looking for now is a Whammy Pedal, (raises and lowers octaves and such)
and i was thinking a Wah but all the Bass wahs i've played not on a Multi Effects pedal is Spring Loaded, which really puts me off, cos i used to play guitar a little, and i like the Normal Wah, and i havnt found a Crybaby for Bass like that yet
hmm, and i was thinking Synth, but the ones i've played i havnt got a sound i really like out of them, more like a weird kind og Distortion, i was hoping something along the lines of the Spinal Tap Big Bottom Synth sound
and i was prob gonna get a Limiter too, and an EQ maybe, or a pedal just for a volume/gain boost
so much to choose, but first i'm gonna get one fo those Boss recording things... there really cool
