I was pretty much browsing and listening to a lot of Toku-stuff on the Youtube, and came across this. Though, actually, the first time I saw it, was the 'old' first generation version of Lion Maru (one that was set up in feudal Japan) that I remember. Then, it lead me to the '2006 version'.
I'm not sure if this was mentioned before here, but had anyone seen this? And is it worth checking it out (despite being 13 episodes it seems)?

I liked the original Kaiketsu Lion Maru and its sequel Fuun Lion Maru better than the new version. The old ones were simpler, less overly stylish, and simply more fun to watch. I don't like the current incarnation of Tiger Jo; he was much better in the original.

I watched the first three episodes of G and... I agree with you. I liked the other Kaiketsu Lion Marus, since those were more fun and light-hearted then the current one. I was really feeling uneasy watching it, since it was so perverted... The concept (stupid Gigalo turns into Lion Maru) was creative, and I do like the reworked Lion Maru costume, but it doesn't beat the originals... I know it was setting for a somewhat 'darker, humorous and modern' tone, but if I wanted to watch a mature Toku, I'd rather stick to GARO.
I don't know why people said it was 'good' and 'they liked it,' because I see this type of stuff on American TV too much....

The main reason why I don't watch Lion Maru G is because I feel like comparing it to other toku, either the originals or something like GARO. If it was a stand-alone toku, then I probably wouldn't diss it like I do.

If I was in Japan, I probably wouldn't be dissing it either, since I have seen 'doramas' that were few in the hardcore-perverted stuff. Most are all 'clean' or somewhat border on perverted, and seeing this was a bit shocking... >_>;
