But I can get a hair-dye
And set such colour there,
Brown, or black, or carrot,
That young men in despair
May love me for myself alone
And not my yellow hair.- Yeats,
"For Anne Gregory"When Homicidal Paperdoll mentioned to me that she wanted to start a beauty guild, and had training in such matters, I immediately thought several things:
1. There aren't many people on the Internet who want to do anything. A lot of people are reluctant to build sites, even.
2. People - esp. younger people - can always use help maintaining themselves. When you're younger, you look good naturally, so you can get into bad habits that don't work later. Think about 40 year old women that dress like teenagers with jeans that show their midriff. *shudders*
3. Paying attention to beauty is paying attention, period. That latter, more general ability is all too rare in this world, and yet can make life a lot better for each of us.
So here we are, and this beauty/wellness guild is happy to give advice and take questions. We're aiming to have lots of officers who are mature and have expertise.
Right now, Homicidal Paperdoll is in charge of actual beauty tips; Cattirun is the fashion expert; Cold Enigma is there to help give advice on the things going on in your life she feels she can address; and me, I'm gonna try and improve speech and language. We are seeking someone to help out with posture and dancing.
Being beautiful is about wanting to be beautiful in the fullest sense, and we're happy to help, and happy to learn from all of you.

Anytime you have a question, feel free to make a new thread in the proper forum. The reason is simple: if there are lots of threads with particular questions and answers, we can have a knowledge base, where the title can tell someone at first glance whether they'll get an immediate answer to a question they have or not.
Note that by making new threads when you have a topic, the people who are going to give advice will come to you. That is the idea.
