I noticed Maynard's range, vocally, has improved a lot in their new album.

He's still a d**k.
But yes, as would be hoped by the fans, Tool has gotten a bit better over the years -- as a whole.

In my opinion, 10,000 Days is only better than Opiate, but all their other CDs top it. My opinion is still that Aenima is their best album, but 10,000 Days is still a great CD.

Although Opiate, Undertow, Aenima, Salival and Lateralus all have a special place in my heart...10,000 days does have in my opinion the best Tool song ever written...that being 10,000 days (wings pt. 2) that being said, its noy my favorite album, that honor remains with Lateralus.
i couldnt begin to put them in any kind of order...they are all equal with the exception of Lat.

I can't really pick favourites, I liked opiate even though it was heavier, AEnima was really awesome, as were most of the songs on Lateralus and 10000 days was great and...
I don't know if they are getting better as such, but they are different, Opiate was heavier, Lateralus was lighter and had more intricate riffs and stuff, 10,000 days was kind of halfway in between with more... different ah... I can't really explain. But hey, they are awesome.

I disagree with the title since I still think Lateralus is a better quality album than 10,000 Days and certainly more intricate. The presentation itself was amazing and 10,000 Days wasn't even close, in my opinion.
Of course it's easy to agree with the first post and it's only to be expected after all of Maynard's work with APC and Puscifer.

I don't see how people can even make comparisons and say one cd is better than another. xd Opiate and 10,000 days are two completely different sounding cds.
And it's so obvious how much changed in Maynard's life if you listen to the words of the songs on earlier cds vs. 10,000 Days. Don't assume the his range improved at all, if anything they are just writing songs to use different ranges than we are used to....

jessyta I don't see how people can even make comparisons and say one cd is better than another. xd Opiate and 10,000 days are two completely different sounding cds. ?? The comparison I am making is about which CD I enjoy listening to more. And I enjoy listening to 10,000 Days more than Opiate. It doesn't matter that they are 2 different sounding CDs.

10,0000 days is amazing. I still haven't gotten over it. But, it doesn't top Aenima or Lateralus.
