Ode to the Fish with the Miscoloured Eyes

As a young boy, it's true that
I was not the smartest, nor
was I the strongest. That's true.
But truth be told, it's mostly
What my parents told me to
Believe in. As silly as
That might sound to the young ones.

Strange, I can still remember
Some words, mother and father
Would often say to me. It's true.
What were they trying to say?
For me, it's hard to recall.
But then again, it was hard.
Hard to hear under the ice.

I still think of them, sometimes.
But I guess I never cried.
Cried over their deaths, so tragic.
But now I think I know why.
I spent most of the time after death.
Most of it with my best friend.
But why red and green eyes, mom?

Sleek and slim!
But also very dim!

Swimming through oceans
Going through the motions

WAAAAAAAAAATERMEAT!

You may want to eat it,
Others want to beat it!

Cherish it love eeet,
before the polar bear eats it!

Googly eyes, short fins,
Large head doesn't need mittens!

WAAAAAAAAATERMEAT!

Spreading love and joy,
incredible for a toy!

So don't dis the fish,
Sea lion, Manity thing ish.

It all started last year,
No one knew what to expect.
At first the Zurg filled us with fear,
now with peace and respect.

And the symbol of all of this
is the cute watermeat.
Some say it's just a fish,
I say it's pure lightnrgy!

With it's plain and simple being,
button eyes and cute little fins.
It is is easy to start believing
It's all we need for love!

Oh hunny,
Oh sweet.

Please don't eat that creature,
You don't know where it came from.

From the artic?
From the ocean?

Or maybe from the forest?
Or the rivers?

Please don't eat that creature!
It isn't a fish! It is deformed!

Do not eat that Watermeat!
