Why are "bad words" bad words? What made them bad? Why does it offend people? Aren't they just words, another adjective to our vast vocabulary? Is it the sound of the word? And why is it unchristian like to use them?

I have just been wondering...

ya, know I have been wonering the same thing, except not about cuss words, about flicking people off. I mean people don't get offended when you stick your pinky out, why would they get mad if you stuck your middle finger out? I mean who started useing it as a mean sighn anyway?

and if it is the way you say them if you say a good word in the same tone does that make it bad?

I could write a book about all the stuff I ponder...Maybe someone just said, "Hey. Let's make up some words and say the're bad." I dunno. Some words you can understand being bad, considering their meaning.

Well if it's meaning, then technically cuss words aren't bad! I mean they are donkey, poo, butt, child born from unmarried parents(i guess that ones kinda bad), the place where Satan resides, and im still trying to figure out what the F word means since in can be a substitute for nouns,verbs,adjectives and so on!

As for the middle finger, I have no idea what makes that particular body part bad.

If you think about it, we make up some of the silliest rules....

The F word is prob'ly one of the worst. All the others have clean meanings, but they make a new word for it and suddenly it's considered bad. (I'm not encouraging using them, though...)
