The movie, The craft, it's a good movie, but it has so much wrong information about witchcraft. It irks me how much people are mislead by movies like that and how things are misinterpreted. When people find out that I'm Wiccan, they think it's all like Harry Potter and turning people into frogs and the like. xp

Same with me! And they're all like "do a spell!" and I'm like "well it's not a Harry Potter-like thing... you won't really see anything" It's frustrating! an dpeople think we're satanists!

I think that it's good for entertainment value. It exaggerates the truth for entertainment, which is basically what all fantasy is.
I'm sure The Craft did get a few more people interested in alternative religions; people that actually stuck with it instead of just being a fluffy going with the fad.

I hate that. People at my school and some of my friends think that Wicca is satanism, and we worship the devil and do all that creepy stuff they show in movies. It's so stupid! I want to kill every person that thinks like that!!!! scream

Yeah I know what you mean about the people thinking your satanist or something, my friend arty openly said she was pagan durring school and a bunch of people ganged up on her and said "you know your going to hell for that right?" it pissed me off, then a few minutes later they said the same thing to her because she's bisexual stressed Gah, it just pisses me off.

I want to kill every person that thinks like that!!!! scream Ahahahaha... Your anger plays right into their hands. This is Western society and is ruled by Christianity. Any threat to Christian morals (lol) will be dealt with in the same fashion they've dealt with everything, persecution and demonization. Naturally, nothing can be demonized more than by attributing it to the king of demons, Satan himself.

I hate the people who say those tihngs about us. I'm Wiccan and bi so yeah... I wish people would be willing to learn more about Wicca before they judge.

When people find out that I'm Wiccan, they think it's all like Harry Potter and turning people into frogs and the like. xp Yeah because Hollywood doesn't distort anything else for enertainment value stare I mean The Da Vince code, that's pure fact and its finally brought people over top the truth of those ebil xistians!! [/saracasm] My point is that Hollywood exagerates everything and anything for the entertainment factor. People who watch movies and expect to gain real info on how a religion or belief or lifestyle actually is are idiots. They are not worth my time or bothering. We need to recognize the difference between entertainment and real information, if people are too lazy to realize then maybe I'm too lazy to givd them the time of day.

I live in a small Catholic/Christian town. We have 4 churches, In a town of like 200 people. It is really stupid, some kid in school even asked me to light something on fire using my powers so being the smart a** that I am I took out a lighter and lit his test paper a flame. I mean people watch movies and expect me to be able to snap my finger and have someone disappear.
I also side with you vesta, multiple times have peoples parents come up to me and try to convert me back. Even my chaperon on a field trip told me "You need to find the path back to gods love, come from the wretched darkness." I laughed so hard I almost pee-ed.

I find is fascinating that people always assume that anyone who isn't christian would be unhappy. I just raise my eyebrow, asking them "Oh yeah? Then how come so many actually leave your religion? Why would anyone want to be unhappy?"

The Resurrection Hollywood isn't responsible for the Da Vinci Code... Too true, Dan Brown is. How I loathe that man. But regardless fiction and works meant for entertainment should not be taken as honest to goodness fact. What next think we'll think 7th Heaven is exactly what all Christians are about. Or perhaps we'll look to The Exorsist. Maybe Hellsing is the honest to goodness truth about Protestans and Catholics, they just been keeping it under wraps. Perhaps The Crucible's telling of Abigail Williams and John Proctor's affair is 100% truth, even though Abigail's age was altered for the work and instead of blame all sorts of economic, social, and belief reasons for the Salem witch trials we should belief that it was all about Abby getting her man. I think regardless of who created the fiction it is still fiction and while the work may portray some elements of truth, they should never be taken as direct fact.
