Introduction
"Hey there, Delilah."
Delilah looked up and waved back to me. "Hey Spence! You're back from touring! I've missed you!" She ran up to me and hugged me tightly.
"Yeah...it's been crazy. Thank god it's over. I can finally rest and relax." I smiled at her. It was so good to see her.
Delilah and I were best friends...and next door neighbors. Her bedroom window faces mine while mine faces her's. We talked every night, mostly about nothing, but always about something. She was my age and went to a community college in Las Vegas. She was always there for me...
"Spence...you should go see your mom. She's been missing you. And i'm sure you've been missing her...right?"
I sighed. "Actually, I've missed everything. Being away from home isn't as fun as I thought it would be." I chuckled.
"Yeah..." She looked behind her and said, "I got to go...I was just outside to get the paper..." She rubbed her arm. "I'll call you later, Spence...or we can always talk through the windows." She winked at me and laughed. Then she walked slowly back into her house.
Something was different about her. She was usually perky and energetic, but now, she was calm and quiet. I didn't mind it that much at the time, but I wish I did.
I really wish I did.
side notes: short and slow beginning, but just wait...hopefully it will get better! I hope you like it so far. Not much...just the intro. i'm'a post the first few chapters riiiiiight now.

I went inside my own house and looked around for my mom. Dad was probably still at work, so I would see him later.
I come into the kitchen and see me mom, holding a hot plate of cookies that just came from the oven. I didn't say "Hi" to her right away, because I was afraid that she would drop the cookies.
So I waited until she set them on the table. She looked up and saw me, looking scared but surprised at the same time. "Spencer?!"
"Hey mom!"
She ran up to me and gave me a big hug and a big kiss on the cheek. "Spencer! Oh my God! You're back! Why didn't you call me before?!" She slapped me across the arm.
"I wanted to surprise you!" I took a cookie and started munching on it. Yum...homemade chocolate chip cookies...my favorite.
"Well...you sure got me surprised!" She slapped my arm again. "Here sweetie...sit down. You must be tired!" She got out a carton of milk and poured some into a glass. "Here...you need some calcium. You're so skinny!"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Touring is a lot of excersice!" We both laughed.
"So...have you visited Delilah yet? She misses you so much."
I nodded. "Yup. She was happy to see me. And I was surely happy to see her." I smiled.
My mom made a little humming sound. "Does someone like someone MORE than a friend?"
"No...she's my BEST friend. Two people can't share the love for each other?"
But I was denying it. I've liked Delilah more than a friend for a long time now. I couldn't stop thinking about her every since leaving for the tour. That's what scared me the most. If she knew that I loved her, things might ruin out relationship as friends.
I ate another cookie and headed for my room upstairs. It looked like heaven now.
I fell on top of the bed and hugged my pillow. It was a nice feeling...the feeling of being back home.
It was 12:30 midnight and I flashed my flashlight through Delilah's window.
Then I hissed, "Delilah...open your window!"
She finally opened her window. She squinted her eyes at me and shouted, "WHAT?!"
"I just wanted to say hi..." I felt stupid doing the whole flashlight thing, but a few months away from home shouldn't change much...right?
"Oh..Sorry...I'm just cranky. Something went up at home..." She looked down.
"What happened?"
"My dad...he came home drunk again. And he slapped my mom across the face. So, she walked out. She's gone." I saw tears roll down her face.
"Delilah..."
"No...it's okay. I'll be okay." She wiped her tears away and stared into the sky. "I just wish...things were different. I'm glad your back..I couldn't talk about this with anyone else."
I was silent for a while. I didn't know how to respond. I never saw Delilah cry like this before.
She sniffed. "I'm going to go to sleep now...I'm tired...from all the shouting and stuff. Goodnight." She closed her window and went to sleep.
I closed my window and laid in my bed, just thinking.
I felt like we were growing apart. Was it me? Was it her? Who was it?
I thought about taking Delilah with me to meet up with the other guys. Brendon, Ryan, and even Jon really wanted to me her. And I wanted them to meet her.
I thought things were going to go great.
But they didn't.

The next day, Brendon and Ryan came over my house.
"Hey man. Want to come with us?"
"Where?"
"Just a walk around the park. It's been a while since we've walked around Las Vegas."
I was about to say yes, when I thought about Delilah. "Sorry guys...but I wanted to hang out with Delilah today."
Brendon's head jerked back. "Whose that?"
My eyebrows came together. "What do you mean 'whose that?' The girl I've talked about a lot during the tour."
Brendon snapped his fingers. "OH. Her. Well, bring her along. I want to meet her."
Ryan nodded. "Yeah, me too."
"Um...okay. Let's just go over to her house and ask if she would like to come..."
We all walked to her house and knocked on the door. "Delilah!"
She came out and looked surprised. "Um..Hi."
Brendon waved and Ryan smiled. "Hey," they said in unison.
She looked confused, but I just talked anyways. "You want to hang with us...around the park?"
She hesitated to answer at first, but then said, "Sure. That would be nice."
We walked to one of the neighborhood parks and just talked. Delilah seemed really interested in the guys...especially Ryan.
She always took glances at him and laughed at all of his jokes, which weren't one bit funny.
I wanted to punch him and his charming ways, but I couldn't. I tried not to act too jealous.
After the little walk, Brendon and Ryan went into my house, while I dropped off Delilah to her house.
"Hope you had fun." I laughed.
"Yeah...I did. Brendon is such a sweet guy. And Ryan...he's just something." She smiled big.
Grr...Ryan... "Yeah...he's really something..."
"I think I might have a little crush on him..." She smiled again, but this time, she laughed.
"What are we? Elemetary kids? Just ask him out on a date." What was I saying?!
"Do you think he would say yes? You know I hate rejection..."
I rolled my eyes. "Of course. Who would say no to you?"
She jumped up. "Okay! Tomorrow...hopefully. If I don't chicken out and stuff....Thanks Spencer! I had fun!" She gave me a quick hug and went inside her house.
She should like me...not Ryan...
I went back into my house and saw Brendon and Ryan watching TV.
"Hey guys."
They waved back and Brendon said, "Delilah's cool. She's really fun to talk to."
Ryan chimed in. "Yeah...and don't forget to mention that she's really cute. I wouldn't mind taking her out sometime..."
Brendon laughed. "Haha, I would do more than take her out..."
"Shut up! She's not an object!" My hands were both in fists.
Brendon backed off. "Hmm...Spence...I'm sensing a little bit of jealousy. I thought you two were just 'best friends?'"
"We were...I mean...we ARE...I just don't like you guys talking about her like that..."
Ryan looked at me. "So, you wouldn't mind me asking her out then?"
I took a deep breath and said, "Go ahead. She was going to ask you out first anyways."
Ryan's face lit up. "Really?!"
I nodded. "Yeah..."
"Awesome. I'll just go over and ask her out right now." Ryan got up and went for the door. But before he left, he turned around and said, "Thanks, Spence!"
I nodded again.
Who was I...cupid?
