Talk about Comic Books here.

DC, Marvel, Darkhorse? What's your favourite?

This probably should go into the movies topic, but lets give that one a rest and lets start giving a little color to this poor b*****d

What are your opinions on comic based movies?

Do you have favourites? What do you think are the best ones and the worst ones?

I'm not a comics fan so I can only talk about what I've heard (regarding comics, I remain a movie buff), but I've been told that one of the best comic adaptations is Sin City...

I believe Constantine was a comic too... I've found lots of opinions on Hellboy, for that matter too, some people loved it, some hated it, was it a bad adaptation of the original story?

Anyone said Miller's 300 ?

I don't think Miller's 300 is a comic book based film. I could be wrong. sweatdrop

Anyways, one reason Sin City was probably one of the best adapted comic book to film movies is that because Miller helped with the film itself, and Rodriguez was the director. XD But, I'd go more in depth in the movies thread itself.

I am a big fan of comic books, my favourite, being one of the most over-rated probably, X-Men. I thought the first film was great, but the second two were kind of let downs. Anyways, I'm a big fan of Stan Lee and Frank Miller (Much props for some of Daredevil going to Miller.)

I think The Punisher is one of the greatest comic book/graphic novel ideas.

I loathe DC Comics, I just don't think they've got any good superheroes.

As for Darkhorse, I really dislike Hellboy, and that's really all I know from Dark Horse.

V for Vendetta is also based of a graphic novel, if I'm not mistaken. It's Vertigo (Like Constantine, I think).

I dont really read any comic books but i hate DC. Simply because they have batman and he should not be clasifiend as a "super" hero when he has no Super powers

The comic to movie market is a mix of good and god-awful
it annoys me that they hardly ever stay true to the source material. I would have to say that V for Vendetta was the best crossover. hellboy is lame anyway. Constantine was a film I throughly enjoyed and sin city is prolly my second fav crossover

daredevil
comic:good
movie:barf
and the same goes for the hulk

so was Sin City.

the company who produced the Sin City, V For Vendetta, and 300 graphic novels was Vertigo Comics. they also produced a graphic novel series called The Preacher, which remains one of my favorite storylines i've ever read.

but my point in bringing up Vertigo Comics and movies, is that they've produced a graphic novel called The Watchmen, which is a ******** AMAZING story, and they're making it into a movie as well blaugh unfortunately, it's being directed by the same guy who did Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban movie. sweatdrop
