I remember a long time ago reading about Buddhism and I recall from that text that in order to be a buddha one must have done 100 good deeds. I remembered thinking "100? That's very little."

So now I started to look that up again but I don't find anything on the net saying that. I'm confused now. If not, then where did 100 good deeds comes from?

I have no idea where that would come from. I've never heard of it before.

Dang! 100 is an awfully small number considering that Buddhists are accustomed to thinking about vast, endless stretches of time. It sounds like everyone would be a Buddha by the time of death if that were true biggrin

Perhaps it comes from "100 Good Deeds for Eddie McDowd"? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0218744/

"10,000" often indicates infinity in Chinese literature, so perhaps that could have something to do with the saying you're thinking of?
