Pick a system, any system, or many systems...
All Nextgen [PS3, Wii, XB360, DS, PSP] (Spread the love. Give the people a good looking choice.)
All Lastgen [PS2, GCN, Xbox, DS, PSP] (Spread the love. Give people the cheap choice.)
PS3 (Make it big, make it flashy, make it popular, UR not red E)
Wii (That motion sensing thing is so cool. *grunt* Taste my refreshment!)
XB360 (Great graphics, and more, Grant my wish, Microsoft)
  PS2 (Hey, I can't afford a PS3 yet, but I love my PS2. Gimme!)
GCN (Hey, the GameCube still has life in it, right? It's got a comfy controller, too.)
Xbox (Give the Japanese more reason to buy Xboxes! Please!)
DS (I think the stylus and microphone would make the sequel cool, plus it's portable!)
PSP (Wallpapers and movies and extras for my PSP Media... *evil grin*)

Ok, guys. Next step. How do you want to be playing your Lunar 3? Do you want it to be portable? Would you rather have a traditional controller, or a stylus, or a Wiimote? Do you want it in 2D or 3D? Cell shaded, or realistic? Talk to me.

Hmm, to tell you the truth, I'm not sure I'd want a 3D Lunar or a handheld Lunar, and that pretty much rules out any Lunar at all. Come to think of it, after DS, I'm not sure I'd want any Lunar.

But. If there was one, even if it was 3D and well done (no handhelds, please) I'd prefer it to be on the Wii, due to personal preferences, and that neato controller.

I agree, personally. Although both the PS3 and the Wii have motion sensing controllers, I think the Wii controller setup is much more intuitive, and a much more thorough exploration of the technology.

Plus, if the latest Link can go cavorting in his RPG swingin' away, why can't the latest Dragonmaster? *Doram daydreams for a moment about a Lunar team-up with Shigeru Miyamoto, and sighs*

I think it should be on the PS3 though I don't particularly like PS3s. The only reason I say it shouldn't be on the Wii is because to do that, you'd have to change the battle system of Lunar from turn-based to whatever type you have in Zelda 'cause I don't think the Wiimote (or the controller) really works well with turn-based battles.

I'd love to see Lunar all realistic-like like Final Fantasy X. I think it would be beautiful.

But with the poor way Ubisoft did Lunar: DS, I dunno if I can take another disappointment from the series....................

i think it should be either for Gamecube or PS2...or both XD

...In fact, it would be cool if they remade Silver Star Story Complete for GC or PS2 ^w^

Well, I agree with the idea that if it is going on the Wii, then it should become an action RPG, but whether or not that would still make it a Lunar game, is another question. Personally, I have no objection to Lunar going Action-RPG. Beyond Zelda, I have been really loving the Kingdom Hearts series, and that has brought Action-RPG gaming to great heights as well. Both games have spectacular storytelling elements, and really fun gameplay. If they make an Action-RPG Lunar with elements of both Zelda and KH, then I think that it can be a spectacular game indeed.

As for whether or not a Wii game MUST become an Action-RPG, then I'd say no. The Wii supports both Gamecube controllers, and the retro controller, and with those two as your choices, there is no reason that you cannot have a traditional Turn-Based-RPG. And, even barring that, who is to say that a menu system cannot be done with motion-sensing style. Imagine using the Wii controller, and hitting a button that pulls up the menu, and it pops up, briefly taking up a good portion of the screen, and then you point at the option you want, and hit a confirm button, and boom, it is done. All you would need is what the controller has, two buttons - menu/confirm and cancel. You can even use the D-Pad on it for fine-tuning the selections, or accessing sub-menus.

Aside from all that Wii talk, I agree that a cheaper alternative would be making it for LastGen Console (PS2, GCN, Xbox), and could be just as fun without the motion sensing stuff. RPGs have survived just fine without it for quite some time, and I doubt that traditional Turn-Based-RPGs will stop coming out, now that motion sensing is all the rage.

As for another remake of SSSC for GC, I seriously doubt that it will happen. They took a big enough risk doing what they did reviving a really old game for PS1, and with the lack of success for DS, I doubt that anything like that will be done again.

Finally, Yes, Ubisoft did Lunar a great disservice with the horrible job they did on DS, but they are a good dev team (I love Rayman), and they haven't done a lot of Nintendo DS games, much less RPGs in general, so I guess they can be forgiven.

EDIT: quoted from my other thread
Well, personally, I was not aware that Ubisoft had anything to do with the Jade Cocoon games, but now that you mention it, yes, they sold poorly, and were not received well by the critics either.

I did some research, and, on the other hand, the games were not developed by Ubisoft, just published by them (both Jade Cocoons were developed by Genki), and Ubisoft also published Grandia II for both Dreamcast and PS2 for Game Arts, to much success. The games that Ubisoft actually develops are all good games, like Rayman, Rainbow Six/Splinter Cell, Prince of Persa: Sands of Time, and Beyond Good & Evil. Yes, Ubisoft has published some absolute crap (Batman games, anyone?), but that just means that they stink at picking good games to publish, and if they are involved in the development at all, they are not giving the developers the right kind of support.

Now that I am doing some research, as a matter of fact, Game Arts (the people who actually wrote/programmed Lunar, for those that don't know) has randomly selected between Working Designs (may they rest in peace, or rise from the ashes, whichever pays better), Sony (SCEA), Square (and SquareEnix), and Ubisoft, for US publishing rights for just about every game they have released. And, since the job of development remained with Game Arts for DS, then they, and they alone (well, Japan Arts Media (JAM) too, i guess), are responsible for how bad the game was, because they made it. So, I will tolerate no further Ubisoft bashing. Place blame where blame is due. Game Arts and JAM. (Actually, if I remember my news from the time, the majority of programming, etc, was done at JAM, instead of Game Arts, because Team Alex had been disbanded, and Game Arts was iffy on continuing the series, so you can lay a little more blame on them.)

So, please, everyone, lay off of Ubisoft. The silly little Frenchmen don't deserve any more abuse than they already get.

The only reason this is so much of a big deal is because this is a fringe franchise, with only just enough support to keep it going, and the difference between a game that sells well and one that doesn't can spell doom for the entire franchise. So, as I have said before, if this is to be kept going, our small fan-base needs to be extra vocal to make sure that we remain heard. Scream it, and scream it loud.

I Love Lunar!

Well, I have seen plenty of beautiful 3D RPGs, including some that have come from 2D franchises. I see no reason why you cannot make a beautiful Anime styled RPG in 3D. Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, LOZ: Twilight Princess, Kingdom Hearts II, Xenosaga, Dragon Quest VII, and many others are beautiful, epic, and 3D.
