I'm not sure how this would work.
Since they can recognize things, I guess just having them notice you but do nothing would be good enough.
After all, a real one would just raise its arms and come at you, right?
Opinions?

Voodoo zombies are, at least in most cases of voodoo, still alive. They're simply normal people who've been put under a spell. Voodoo doesn't bring the dead back to life, it makes the living half-dead.
You can scare voodoo zombies. Jump out and go, "Boo!" and they'll react like a person would. They may even manage a startled scream. Voodoo zombies also feel pain. Hit it, and it'll flinch. Voodoo zombies are also sometimes friendly. Whereas dead zombies just want to eat your brains.

It's called the blink test. If you see one and aren't sure, just aim a flash light at their eyes, at night, or just wait till they blink.
You can also look for wounds.

A non-voodoo zombie should also show signs of necrosis. Pale skin from lack of blood flow, stiff movement, etc. and if they have been zombies for a good while, they may even show signs of rotting and discoloration. If they have any large open wounds which are not bleeding, that's also a sure sign. If they have dried blood around the mouth from feeding, that's also a quick way to tell since voodoo zombies don't feed on the flesh of the living.
As long as you have a clear view of them, it should be easy to tell. On the other hand, the chances of encountering voodoo zombies in the same location as non-voodoo zombies... well... not likely. mostly because the voodoo zombies would quickly become zombie food, I should think.
