Drifter Space is one of the largest areas of pure, untainted, and uninhabited space. This is also how the area got its name. It is a great place to pass through if you don't want any trouble, and to enter a slipspace warp. There's nothing in this area except stars and darkness...

Before long, Ryder's ship had flown into Drifter Space. The space station was far behind him and all he saw was the soft shine of the stars. That was close... he observed to himself. Ryder plotted a course towards Earth, the last place any UNSC personnel would look for him. He turned the Strahl around and activated the afterburners once again. His ship zoomed off towards Planet Earth.

Calla nodded, agreeing completely. She just wished to be polite in case there was a problem with them sharing. "No problem. This way." They made their way up a rickety staircase to a narrow hall with six doors. With a quick flick of her wrist, a numberpad appeared. She punched in a memorized code to unlock the room and shove it back into the wall. "Here y'are. There's a lock on the inside too."

There was a ladder down to a small but cozy space. A single cot, a desk, and a small closet. There were even a few pictures of different landscapes and planets posted up haphazardly. "You're free to decorate as you like, and such. I don't mind as long as you don't totally destroy everything." She giggled. "At the far end of the hall is our common room- 'Lia and I usually eat in there. Well-" A large yawn cut her off, and Calla looked duly embarassed again. She smiled slightly. "Sorry- guess I should get some shut eye. If you have any questions or anything, my room's this one" Calla gestured to the first door on the left. "Ophelia's technically across from me, but she doesn't often stay there. I wouldn't go in there, though." The girl shrugged, as if it were a minor point, and headed to her own room.

Kira followed close behind her, eyes darting around curiously as she took in everything they passed. Everything, no matter what it was, seemed extremely interesting. She'd never been on a ship before! She halted as she watched Calla tap in a series of numbers, and her ears gave a small twitch as she heard the door slid open. She stared at it, and then to Calla as she listened to the girl speak.

When she yawned, Kira just smiled, nodding her head. "Yeah, me too," she agreed, making a mental note whose rooms belong to who so she wouldn't wander into the wrong one on accident. As the older woman turned away, Kira looked towards her own room, and stepped slowly inside, peering around. She moved towards the cot and sat down, tilting her head back as she stared at the ceiling. "Well, this is fun," she grinned, being completely serious.

Calla hopped lightly down into her room. It was a bit larger than the others, but not much. She smiled softly as the Hakon stirred. To anyone else, it had to be an unusual and perhaps frightening sight. Ophelia always slept in her natural form- a hybrid of humanoid and reptilian. Long black spikes curved off her spine gracefully. As Calla curled up with her back to the Hakon's stomach, Ophelia yawned softly and embraced her, still asleep. The talons on her feet curled, clicking on the bed's metal frame idly.

Kira cast one last glance around the room, then set her bag on the small desk. She pulled her mp3 player from her pocket, tugged the headphones from around her neck, and placed them lightly beside her bag. Removing her shoes next, she set them against a wall by the cot, and then laid down on her back, staring at the ceiling. She was excited, yes, but she'd feel bad if she explored the ship without asking.

And, she was tired, after having left so early to get away before her father or brother realized it. But now she was worry free, for the moment. They wouldn't find her, and she'd gotten herself a ride on a ship, even a job! And was off to explore the unknown. Shiro curled up on her stomach, and she patted him lightly on the head. "Goodnight," she said gently.
Goodnight, he replied sleepily.

Shouts. Confusion. Who had come to the Hakon? Who? Calla looked through Ophelia's eyes, remembering how they had met. The two of them regarded the chaotic landscape. Like the Hakon, it changed drastically and without warning. Their claws dug into the loose dirt. There was hardly anything here worth living for. The Hakon merely waited for their chance to escape. Some didn't wait at all, but hurled themselves through space in hopes of latching onto a ship before starving. Ophelia/Calla turned to face the incoming ship. A girl- a woman, really- descended. She was wrapped in cloth and obviously ill at ease. The brunette hurriedly grabbed the strap of a half buried crate and pulled as hard as she could. The winds changed and she gave a muffled curse. With a serpentine grace, Ophelia/Calla moved to the opposite side and helped the struggling woman with her task. Their eyes met. Calla saw her own eyes.

She awoke with a gasp, then a groan. "...What time is it? Ophe-"

"56 minutes until Azel." The Hakon was already up and in human form. She was straightening their room, which had apparently been torn apart while Calla slept.

"What...? Was I dreaming?" She put a hand to her head. It had seemed like an important dream, too...

"Yes. We dreamed."

Calla was about to ask more, then shook her head and got up. "I want you to be nice- we've got crew now. Kira and Shiro- they're nice people, so don't go growling at them, ok?"

The Hakon turned her gleaming, emerald eyes on Calla with a soft smile. "As you like."

Kira had drifted into sleep as well, her thoughts untroubled. Mostly this was due to Shiro and his mental powers. If he knew one long enough, he was even able to pass them soothing thoughts, enabling them to sleep peacefully. Currently he was doing this for Kira, even as he himself slept asa well. She was much more nervous than she appeared to be. They were heading to Azel? She'd heard of that place, and those living on it. To be honest, she was very nervous, even though she was partly some sort of demon herself. To be honest, she wasn't even sure what she was.

She rolled over on the small cot, and would have fallen off, if some invisible force hadn't kept her still and pushed her gently back to the center. Shiro slipped from her stomach when she rolled, and promptly snuggled right back against her, not waking.

Meanwhile, on Kale's ship........

Hiroki felt it would be a lot easier with Kale unconsious. SHe carefully removed the shell of the bullet and dropped it on the floor next to the bed.
She reformed her hand into a scalpel, and slashed down his shirt, peeling it back off of his blood-caked chest before examining his other wounds. "No much wrong...bleeding over...wounds need stitch though...." she said as she puled a sewing kit from her pocket. "Well...least he's out...." she said before taking out a small bottle of peroxide. She carried various medical supplied with her for different reasons. SHe sterilized the surrounding area before stitching up his wounds. "There...." she muttered before pushing a bit of hair from her face.

Mercutio flicked his wrist and increased his speed by 10 mph. He was going about 50 mph already. The emptiness of space calmed him, especially when he had alot on his mind. All of the surrounding stars kept attracting his attention. Mercutio had his motorcycle's guns out, but not active. He noticed this and poked the blue button on the steering wheel to hide them back in the center of his bike. *Sigh* Nothing like some me-time...

Calla groaned. Whenever she slept with Ophelia, it always took ages for her to remember how to be herself again. It would be nice to have some outsiders onboard...hopefully she wasn't too weird after these naps...

They glided silently past another cargo ship, the Swift 5000, as the lettering declared. Calla slipped into her cockpit and sipped an energy drink with a wistful smile. "I doubt there're 5000 of you, buck-o. Wonder who you work for...not one of ICDS' ships..." She shrugged it off, bringing up a screen to check out her cargo. Nothing moving in the hold... Several clicks later, and she'd observed most of the interior (and bits of exterior) on the ship.

She settled back and finished her cup, watching the Swift 5000 as it inched out of her physical sight. "Luck t' ya, whoever y'are."

Not too long after she'd rolled over, Kira's eyes fluttered open, despite the calming effect of Shiro's power, one she did not know about despite how long she'd "owned" him. He was more of a friend than a pet, really. She blinked herself into consciousness and then very slowly slipped a hand under Shiro's tiny form. She lifted the dog up with her, keeping him cradled gently against herself as she rubbed at her eyes with her other hand.

Her eyes darted around the room, and then she slowly got to her feet. That had been a pretty good nap. To be honest, she was surprised she hadn't rolled off of the bed. Again, she was unaware that Shiro's power had kept her from doing so. So she smiled to herself, then to the tiny dog, before slowly making her way from the small room. Face lifted to the air, she sniffed lightly, and followed the scent towards Calla.

The sounds of scales whispering over metal greeted Kira and Shiro's ears, however there was nothing in particular to be seen. If they listened closely, it seemed to be coming from the closed quarters of the Hakon. But that was unsurprising.

Just as they started to move on, there was a clack. The door slid up and a young girl looked up. She neither smiled nor frowned, but looked them over with open criticism. However, the Hakon made no attempts to communicate with them further; she turned on her heel and walked the opposite way towards the common room.

Kira slowed her pace slightly, ears tilting in random directions as she caught an odd sound. Her eyes flicked towards a door, and it slid open a second later to reveal a young girl. She blinked a couple times, then frowned very slightly, though also looked confused. Her eyes followed the girl as she wandered in the opposite direction, and then Kira slowly continued on her way, still following Calla's scent towards her. Well, that was pleasant, Shiro murmured quietly. Kira just shrugged her shoulders. At least it had been a quick and silent confrontation.

Calla turned her head as they found their way to the cockpit and rewarded them with one of her sunny smiles. "Ever been to Azel? I've only been twice myself."
