On Monday, I will have been a vegetarian for three weeks. I know that is not a long time, and I was wondering if anyone had the same thing happen to them when they first stopped eating meat.
Lately, I've been having dreams about eating meat. I don't think it's because I want to or I miss it, because I don't miss it at all! But like... last night, I had a dream that I was eating like... some beef jerky or something, and then I realized that it was meat and felt really guilty.. but I kept eating it anyways. A couple of nights ago I had a dream that my friend bought me a cheeseburger, and I ate like half of it until I realized what I was doing and went into the bathroom to throw it up. I've had other little dreams like that too. Did anyone else have weird dreams like these? lol. I was just wondering, I thought it was really weird.

I didn't have dreams about meat when I was turning veggie, but I did have a couple recently. The ones I had were mostly fast-food commercials with me placed into them somehow. >.>

Actually, every time I go vegetarian, I ALWAYS have dreams about eating meat. I usually flip out in my dream, like you did, but I kept eating it anyway. I think it's just your body's response to losing something it's been used to for years.

I had one once when I was younger, where some of my school friends took my box veg lunches and threw them on the ground, stamped on them, and taunted me until I ate a ham sandwich.
Whereupon I turned into this horrible monster, and ate all of my friends.

I've been vegan for 4 years and vegetarian for 6 and I don't remember having any such dreams. However, we all dream about things we wouldn't do in normal life. Some things that are just absurd (like being a giant lobster), some that are shameful, and some that are impossible (flying). The important thing to remember is it's just a dream, nothing more.

I haven't had any. It could be a sign of protien or vitamin defficiency. be sure you're getting enough protien, iron, etc.

I've never had any. In fact, I can't remember the last time I had a dream where I was eating at all!
I do have a friend who turned veg for a while and had a dream about a sloppy joe or something. She was very traumatized for a while. xd

That's happened to me. A few weeks after I stopped eating meat, I had a dream that I ate a hamburger and called it a "nag". When I woke up, I felt sick. I knew that I'd never eat meat again.

After I just became a vegetarian I had those. Those stopped after the first months. Now I've been vegetarian for 3 years and even the smell of meat makes me really sick.
