From all the veiw points I constantly see and all the background that goes into this story it seems pretty deep. So, have any of you seen any symbolism in this story?

How like when ever they say, "THE WORLD" they are talking about the game, but they did that to make you think of the real world, our world. They are using parallelism to describe our world.

Heres another one. In the episode "recollection" at the end, Tsuburu looks like she got raped, even though its just a game. Her clothes were tattered and messed up. could that be saying something to the viewer?

Even though most of the things that happen in //SIGN aren't possible in an actual video game, they made it as close to reality as possible. Like when Subaru got beat up by Kaochin, in a real game, she'd be unchanged, but her HP would be critically low. Instead, she looked as if "The World" were the real world, and her real body had been beat up. That was kind of the concept behind the whole anime, and in fact, the whole project .hack. "What if cyberspace replaced reality?" Due to a lack of technology, they couldn't put into the video games all the spiffy effects that are in //SIGN (which actually makes sense, because project .hack involves technology that doesn't exist), but in an anime, they can do whatever they want. Even Sora's facial expressions are part of that attempt to connect with reality, because in the game, every expression has to be typed in as a command. Surely there are no commands for the complex things Sora can do with his face, and there's no command for what happened to Subaru after Kaochin went berserk on her.

The .hack series was suppose to intertwine reality and the network so closely that you have no idea which is actually reality. This is an important factor that you must consider. Whatever happens in the net, it will, in some way, effect reality.
