Stat-Specific Quests Physical Strength Bruno “So you’re the one they sent t’ bring down ol’ Bruno eh? Y’re the fifth that’s come ‘ere t’ do that an’ if y’ walk away y’ll be the first... What? Were y’ not tol’ that bit? Ooh, you’ve been ‘ad mate. Well, best o’ luck then; it were nice meeting y’.” This fine old forest supports many folk with its bounty. Trees are cut down, cut up and sold; animals are hunted for meat and the occasional party of nobles can be seen wandering around after an exasperated looking guide. Lately though, activity has lessened somewhat thanks to the presence of a very large, very angry bear. Apparently it has killed and probably eaten the last four people sent to deal with it, a fact you have only discovered from talking with a local innkeeper. Do you have any idea why you have been elected for this decidedly dangerous job? How exactly do you intend to deal with the bear and what, if anything, will you have to say to your superiors when you return? Assuming you manage to dispose of the bear that is. Value: 5 pts Physical Defense Training “Many believe that knowing how to fight is all they need. These people will die in actual combat, especially with enemies larger than themselves. Heed my words and perhaps you will live past your first real battle.” Master Sares is among the most annoying people in the whole of Ranothor. He acts as if everyone does not have their own battles to fight, the only ones they need to deal with are those with the guild. It just so happens that he has requested a specific audience with you for some training. You're apparently incompetent. In your own defense, Master Sares is well... a master of his chosen fighting style. If you can't show him up, he's liable to ensure that your only future contracts involve escorting the brats of nobles. Value:5 pts Endurance Tracking
"I appreciate the fact that you people have no concern for our cities, but couldn't you be decent and help out any way?! They're just kids!"
The forests near the place you call home are prime hunting grounds. Nobles often stay in the nearby town and use the forest for sport, hunting deer, fox, wild boar, and anything that strays across their crossbow sights. While most of the rangers ignore the gathering nobles during the hunting season, one particular lord went out of his way to approach your household. It appears that his son has gone out hunting with a few friends on horseback several days past, and the three young men, along with their mounts, have yet to return from their hunt. Needless to say, the lord is a bit nervous. This is his only son after all, and he is asking nicely for you to track him down, as well as offering a reward for your efforts.
Do you hunt down the missing men and bring them back? Politely defer and allow someone else to deal with the missing idiots?
What the hell happened to those three, anyway?
Value: 10 pts Magical Strength The Rain "All of a sudden, the raindrops changed when they hit the ground. Yes, changed! Made everything turn into something new! I'm about fed up of this, we're already packing. Son got caught out in the rain, and now he's a damned toad. Don't know what we're going to do..."Strange reports from the valley of Oesin. The seasonal rains have seemed to turn sour, changing the landscape into a beautiful array of colors. The new water seems to alter whatever touches it, though to harmful effects. Any creature caught in the rain alters drastically, whole herds of sheep turning into a flock of ravens, though mysteriously not changing back. People caught in the storms are not any better off, some altering fully into other creatures while some manage to get out of the rain, and live deformed due to the extensive amounts of change in their body. Most don't live. The guild is worried dearly about this, moreso that the local ecosystem will collapse with all the change going on. The majority of rangers are present to try and help, though, should you choose to accept this mission, you will have to deal with a weather mage who will be totally concentrated on keeping you as your own species. Value: 10 pts Magical Defense Mistakes Happen "Lookit what ye've done to me! I've lost everythin' worth havin'... Get out. Get out NOW!"It was an honest mistake. Anyone could have made it. You know how everyone has that one time where they slip up, and maybe someone gets hurt, they make an enemy, something like that? Well, the end result of your accident just happened to cost an angry man everything he's ever had, even his wife left him, and he blames you. Well, now you're staring at a wizard contracted to counter your "bad luck" by using a spell on you. No biggy, right? Let the professional do his work with some weird chant and then get on your way. That's when you see a serrated sword suddenly hovering in mid-air, summoned from the wizard, and the blade is pointed at you. What ever did you do to destroy the man? What are you going to do now that you've got almost certain death to face if you don't fight back? Value: 10 pts

Experience Quests Quote: Deep "When the sun sets and the night creeps over the trees, I can't help but pull my cloak closer around me. There's voices in the night. Trees, animals, nightwalkers... a thousand tongues speaking at once. What is it they say? Perhaps man was never meant to know."Several members of your guild set out into the woods, and though they were due back that night, they did not return. The search party sent out to find them was found strewn at the mouth of the wood, unconscious apparently, and they have not awakened since they were found. What has happened? What is the guild to do? More importantly, what will you do? Value: 50 points Quote: Stuck On You
*Note, this quest must be undertaken by two roleplayers together and done in RP format in order to be completed.*
**Note, this is a universal quest (available to all)**
"And until you learn to work together, stuck together, you'll be! Now, get off my daisies before I turn /you/ into a daisy! Or better yet, a pair of pansies. That'll teach you!"
All right, so crossing that nasty old lady wasn't the best idea you've ever had. You'd been minding your own business and walking down the road when another of your own kind had startled you. Somehow, nasty comments turned to blows until the two of you were fighting like.... well, cat and dog, is probably the most accurate term. Somewhere in the middle of the fight, an old lady had turned up, and it turns out that the old lady was a mage. She'd gotten so sick of you bickering and trampling her patch of flowers that she'd set cuffs on the two of you, effectively cuffing one of your limbs to one of your opponents, and on a very short chain.
After a long lecture about the merits of getting along, the old lady told the two of you to beat it. One problem: you're still cuffed together. The snarky old mage informed the two of you that you're not getting apart until you learn to get along, and then she vanished, leaving the two of you outside beneath a gathering storm. To make things worse, you've heard that there's a rogue wyrm in the area, one with a very nasty attitude and a taste for blood. You're supposed to deal with storm and wyrm.... while cuffed to an idiot.
How the hell are you going to manage this?
Value: 50 points Quote: Saving the Princess
“I need you to hurry. They'll be here any minute now, and I can't afford to lose her, not my little girl. Please. Be swift and save her, ranger. Save... her...”
Urgent news! The royalty of the nearby kingdom of Numor is under attack. So far, most of the royal blood has been killed, only two remaining when they reach the guild hall. The king is badly wounded, leaving an easy trail for any person of intelligence to follow. As he dies, he leaves you in charge of saving his six year old daughter.
You must flee with her, but what can you do? Hide her in town? In the forest? Or just run until the mob cools off?
Whatever your decision is, you need to make it fast. Even as the king's final breath fades into the air, you can hear the sounds of the mob nearing with every second.
