It had been a long time since Amaterasu had met up with Kaede, her friend. She knew that the jackal-lion had had pups, but had never met them. She thought it was about time to get the two families together. However, Taka wasn't around, so it'd be just Ammy and Ukabe on the trip today. She looked down at her son and smiled. "We'll be going to an old friends place," Ammy explained to Ukabe. "Her name's Kaede, and she's a lioness. She may not look it, but that's only because she's a small kind of lion. She was there when you and your brother were born," Ammy finished with a nod. "I know she's had lion cubs too, so you'll probably have some playmates," She added, hoping her son would have some fun today.
Dahabu'Chaka ran back home, eager to tell her mother about her new lion friend. Her short legs carried her as fast as possible without tripping over roots or anything bad like that. Finally she saw her home and went bounding up to her mother. "Mom, mom! Guess what?" Chaka asked, bouncing up and down in front of her mother. Before Kaede would even have a chance to guess, Chaka continued, "I met another lion! A bigger kind this time! She was really nice! Her name was Noyana, could I bring her over to visit sometime?" She asked excitedly, finally sitting down, tail wagging insanely.

Ukabe bounced around, bouncing on his paws tips he was so excited! "Really mom?! A lioness!?" he squeaked with anticipation, tail wagging to the extreme behind him as he walked side by side with his mother. Oh how be loved his mommy! Now they were going to see lioness'! It was all too exciting for him to handle.
"Are we there yet mommm?"
He simply couldn't wait.
Kaede was padding around the den with Isilo'Ilangabi at her side, Isilo for short, her name was indeed quite long, Kaede used Isilo's nickname with her mostly. Better to not tongue twist herself all of the time. Kaede smiled as she saw Dahabu'Chaka...or Chaka for short, Why did we pick such long names I think sometime? she said in her mind giggling, giving Chaka a loving lick upon her head. "Another lion? How wonderful and of course, you can bring your friends over anytime, introduce her to Isilo when she comes alright?"
Isilo was quiet, her green orbs doing over everything presented to her, the outdoors, her mother, her sister. It was all so overwhelming, but Isilo would be a great lioness one day oh yes! She would be the strongest one ever, every lion and lioness would know her name and tremble when they saw her approach in a fit of rage.
She smiled to herself, yes, dreaming was fun.

"We'll be there soon, son. Kaede's den isn't far from here," Ammy said, chuckling at her young son, trotting on at a reasonable pace. What a joy it would be to get a big meeting together! And to meet Kaede's jackal-lion cubs, Ammy let herself fall into a pup-like trot at the thought, synchronizing Ukabe and her own steps.
"Yeah!" Chaka said, turning to her sister. She didn't even know her sister was up! Sometimes Chaka had a one-track mind, like just now. "You'd like her Isilo! She's really brave and strong!" Chaka truly liked her new friend, and would be more than happy to be able to show off a big lion to her family.

Isilo looked at Chaka, blinking, her green eyes settling on her sister's highly energized body, "I bet I'm stronger and braver then she is," she said with a puff of her chest. Yes, Isilo would be the best lioness ever, better then all the rest, even mother, yes, she would even surpass her loving mother.
"Now now Isilo, thats not nice, you've never met Chaka's friend before, don't judge too quickly..." Kaede said shifting her tail and nuzzling the top of Isilo's head. Kaede then turned to Chaka and gave her a loving lick on the cheek. "I bet she's wonderful." Kaede eyes then rose to see two figures approaching, one was quite familiar, the smaller one had grown too.
What a meeting this would be.
"Mommy mommy are those them?!" Ukabe yipped as he bounded in a circle as he walked with his mommy. His tail was wagging as much as he could make it, and he bolted up ahead past his mommy to Chaka (name unknown to him of course) and he smiled wide. "SO YOURA LION?!!!"

She looked at the happy mostly-white furball that had bounded up to her and smlied. She had no idea what he was, but she liked him, and certainly he could play well. "Yup, I'm a lioness, the name's Dahabu'Chaka. Chaka for short," Chaka said proudly, puffing out her chest. It must have been obvious that they were lions. "We're the strongest lions there are!" she continued, kind of wrapped up in herself. "My mom and sister are too," she told the happy pup, gesturing to her nearby family, "And so are all of my other siblings and my dad, but they're not around right now." She nodded.
Amaterasu smiled at the two pupss before her. This was the first time she had met them. She was, however, overjoyed to see Kaede again, and her tail began wagging too, but not quite as fast as her son's had. "It's great to see you again, it's been too long," She said happily to Kaede. "Very cute little ones, but this isn't all of them?" She asked, knowing from having overheard Chaka. She tilted her head a bit.

Ukabe crouched down, grinned and waggled his tail, "Ooo strong lioness Chaka? I want to play with a strong lioness!" he play pounced forward, giggled and then rolled onto his back. His paws upward pawing at Chaka lightly. "Come on...play with me...can she mom can she? Please" Ukabe begged his mother, he wanted to play with lioness' badly.
Isilo watched Chaka make friends with the pup, her eyes traveled to his single red eye, odd, two different colors? She tilted her head to the side, stayed quiet though and slunk behind her own mother somewhat. These other...things, they weren't like them, they weren't lions...what were they?
"Yes, several more, five more actually, Goma is probably still with them..." Kaede said with a nod. Her tail began to wag too, it was great to see Amy again. She peaked at Isilo, who was trying to hide herself, "Go on its alright..." Kaede tried to nudge Isilo out, but her red pelted daughter seemed nervous.

Ammy smiled at her son's playfulness; he could always cheer her up just with his energy. "You can, but don't play too rough. I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt," Ammy said to her son, turning back to Kaede. "5 more!?! Wow! I'll bet you're proud of each and every one of them!" Amaterasu said. She couldn't fathom 7 pups... What a large number!
She turned her attention to the little pup near Kaede. "Hello little one," she said kindly, trying to coax the nervous pup out. "I'm Amaterasu, Ammy for short. I'm a maned wolf," she told her, in case it'd help ease her tension.
As soon as Chaka heard the big white creature say ok, she jumped on Ukabe, wrestling with all her might. She had to prove her strength as a lioness, after all! She let out many surprisingly realistic lion-like growls as she played.

Ukabe squeaked as Chaka pounced upon him and he smirked and growled right back at her. He wiggled his tail and tried to wrestle back without being too rough, he almost hit his mommy's leg though, if he did he would've been mad with himself but he just kept up as much as he could with Chaka. She was quite stronger for such a little lioness!
Kaede smiled and waggled her tail, "Of course, they're all great little cubs, all so strong..." Kaede peeked at Isilo and nudged her again, "Go on say hi, its okay..." Kaede tilted her head at her red pelted daughter, why was she so quiet compared to the rest?
Isilo blinked at this 'Amy' maned wolf...thing, and looked up at her mother with pleading eyes. Though Kaede seemed so intent on having her say something, she sniffed Amy's paw and looked up at her with big nervous eyes, "H-hello..."

Chaka gave her wrestling her all, a lioness would never give in to this... Whatever it was. It was actually pretty strong. Maybe it was a third type of lion? It looked almost exactly like she did, outside the fur color and size. Perhaps it was a slightly larger breed of lion... She'd have to remember to ask her mom later. For now, she was lost in play
Amaterasu looked into the cute pup's little eyes after laying down. "Hello. How are you today?" She asked, lowering her head down to the pup's level. Why are little ones of any species so cute? she asked herself. Not that she was complaining, just curious.

Isilo looked up at her mother's friend, then back to her mother herself, as if asking silently what she should do. Isilo wasn't very outgoing, she loved her family, but was shy. Always the quiet ones, she'd become one of the ones to become something great she would, least she was certain of it. "Oh...kay...momma, is she a lion too?"
Kaede chucked and nuzzled the top of Isilo's head while keeping her eye on Chaka, she seemed to get along with Ukabe pretty nicely, that was good, quiet good. Her daughter's question stumped her though, she she tell her daughter the truth, or have Amy be a big lioness in her young eyes?
Ukabe growled and rolled over and wagged his tail. "Mommy! She's too strong!" he whined, he wanted to be the strongest of them both! He was a boy afterall, boys were better then girls weren't they? Well, except, of course, for HIS mommy.

Ammy chuckled at Isilo's response. She, however, waited to see what Kaede said in response. Maybe she would teach her pups that Ammy wasn't a maned wolf... That was for her to decide. She smiled at Kaede, waiting for her to decide how to raise her pup.
At her son's call, she turned her attention to him. She chuckled again at the sight of him being beaten by a jackal pup. He was probably 1.5 times her size, if not twice. "You can win still!" she said to him encouragingly.
Chaka was getting tired from her play. Panting, she flopped off of him and sat down. The heat of the day did not help her relax, either. "You're a good fighter," she admitted, looking over at the larger canine. She hoped he wouldn't take this as surrender, even though that's what it was.

Isilo still looked back and forth from her mommy, to her mommy's friend, and back and forth again. So confusing, was everyone a lion but were there, different sub types of lions or something? Why couldn't everyone just look the same as everyone else? "Well mommy?"
Kaede sighed and nudged Isilo, she had to be more patient, well, Kaede had to think faster as well. "In a way Isilo, you'll understand when your older though..." Kaede's green eyes then settled on Amy, life seemed good right no. They both had families, they both had little bundles of joy running around.
Too bad Amy's son wasn't teh same as she was, not a lion like her and her daughter, then perhaps one of Amy's sons would've liked to stay with one of her own, then...then they would all be one big family.
Ukabe grinned and flopped over after Chaka seemed to have given up, he puffed his chest out and looked silly, but he was happy. "Your'a good fighter too, we can have a rematch someday," Ukabe said with a nod, then looked to his own mommy, "Right?"

Something was on Kaede's mind, but Ammy didn't want to pry, at least not in front of the pups. She kept the thought in the back of her mind- remember to ask Kaede what's going on. If she forgot, she could always look into the future or the past, but she so disliked doing that. Where was the fun in life if you knew what would happen?
She turned to Ukabe. "We can come back whenever you want. Maybe more of Isilo and Chaka's siblings will be here next time, and you may even be able to bring your brother, if he's around." She smiled.
Ukabe'd be back, right? Was he leaving, or sticking around? She hoped they'd stay a little while, though Ammy wasn't showing signs of getting ready to go. After all, she'd just got here! "Isilo!" Chaka called, getting up slowly. "You should wrestle with Ukabe! He's pretty strong!" She hoped that perhaps with the help of her sister, they together could beat Ukabe.

Isilo slunk to her mother's side, rested against her shoulder and peered over at Chaka. She seemed so happy all of the time, how did she do that? Be happy, and not care about everything around her? Strange, quite strange, But Isilo just nestled herself against Kaede, breathed deep, closed her eyes and yawned. Tiredness was over coming her.
Ukabe puffed out his chest, wagged his tail and mimicked Isilo and leaned against his mother's leg. Yes, this was nice, the contact was nice, when Isilo yawned, Ukabe grinned and yawned too. Seemed like yawning was contagious.
Kaede smiled and sat down against the ground, let Isilo lay her head on her paws and she smiled, yes, this was nice. She smiled at Ukabe who seemed to love his mother very much. This was nice, quite nice. "Seems like they are getting a bit tired...Chaka, you want to rest a bit too?"

Chaka yawned also, letting out a wimper as she did so. Come to think of it, she too was getting tired. In about a half hour, she'd probably be at it again, but for now... sleep was starting to pull at her eyelids. "Yeah mommy," she answered, rising and meandering slowly to her mother and sister. She snuggled into their fur, keeping herself mostly awake, but closing her eyes. She wanted to know what was going to happen now. Was Ukabe going home for today?
Amaterasu smiled. "Well, I think everyone's pretty much asleep. We probably ought to go before Ukabe is too far gone to make it home," She said, smiling down at her pup. He was too big for her to carry anymore, and she didn't want him to fall asleep if they were going to go home.
