Daemon padded around, searching for something to hunt. He was rather hungry, though not too much, Perhaps he could even bring something back to Ruffian. Though he wondered if she would appreciate it. "Women..." he huffed, padding along through the tall grasses of the Pridelands. He was home yes, home was where the heart is, he wanted Ruffian to feel that way too.
Though he had to get used to walking around by himself again, after they got here, they seemed to go their separate ways during the day...which was depressing.
"You're such an idiot...why not just tell her..." he mumbled and grumbled to himself. He could just tell her, but would she run away, or would she say something back to him? "Women...so confusing..."

Siri trotted somewhat dejectedly through the soft grasses of the pridelands. What a day! It wasn't that late in the afternoon and she'd already managed to get into a fight with her sister. Ugh. She HATED it when people were mad at her. Even when they had a right to be.
I didn't really mean it, after all. She knows I was just joking!
But apparently she didn't. Siri sighed and wondered if she should go back to their home. Apologise... make up... but then she'd have to admit she was wrong. No way. Not right now, anyways. Right now she needed to just be. Maybe everyone would forget about it if she stayed away long enough... Head down, the cub didn't notice the white male until she was just about to run into him.
"Oh!"

Daemon's eyes lowered to settle upon a rather purple mass of fur. Strange colors the lions around here, Maybe something in the water? He wasn't quite sure, but he knew better to judge those by the color of their pelt. Why was she out by herself though? She was quite small...strange strange environment.
"Hey there kid, you alright?" he wasn't sure if she got startled by him or anything, he just wanted to make sure she was okay.

Siri blinked and peered up at the taller lion. Man, he was BIG! Her mouth popped open in a silent expression of awe. And so white, just like a cloud! Or like the little flowers near her home. Or like the moon! Except for those strange black squiggles on his legs.
"You have strange markings!" She chirped, ignoring (or forgetting) his original question. "They're all... black an' sharp!"
Well, they were. If they were to fall on the ground, Siri would make sure she didn't step on them. Reaching up with tiny paws, the female placed her front feet over the markings on his leg. Well, they were soft here! Woow. He really WAS just like a cloud!

Daemon raised a brow at the little cub, so...she liked his markings, not his questions? He sighed and tried to keep a smile no his maw, kids these days, never wanted to answer to adults did they? "Yea, got them from my mother kid, and your...quite purple..."
She was rather purple.
When her paws touched his leg he hesitated doing his immediate pulling away from her, but he figured, if he did that, she might cry, and then he would be in trouble. So he just let her keep her paws on his leg, even if it was rather strange.

Although she was young and might not know quite as much about the world - or those in it - Siri sensed the male tense beneath her small paws. Instantly she backed off, staring at him hard. Was there something wrong with her? Was it her purple?
That must be it. Everyone always commented on that. There was nothing wrong with purple!
"I'm... I can't help it!" She cried, ears folded back. "I was made that way. Mama says I'm special."
Blue eyes wide, she peered up at the white male, head high and tail held up, even though her insides were quivering with hurt. Why did she have to be so different? She was just... a shade of sky in the evening. It was natural!
"I can't help it if I'm not like you!"

"Woa woa woa kid I never said 'your purple' was bad, I was just commenting on it..." Kids can get so defensive jeez... Daemon put his paws up in defense when he spoke, he didn't mean anything by the purple comment really! Flicking his tail he was trying to think of a way to make her feel better.
"Its quite...a nice shade of purple...very unique, its nice..."he offered a smile though he was still getting sue to being around kids. Rather strange it still was, he wondered if he was going to get over that anytime soon. "My names Daemon, whats yours?"

Siri sniffled and blinked up at him, deep blue eyes wide. So... whining and crying really DID work. At least with lions that weren't her parents! He was so akward too. Silly adults! They always though kids were so naive. Well! She certainly wasn't. Not in the ways that were important! Siri allowed him to change the subject, rather graciously she thought.
"I'm Siri!" The cub grinned. "Daemon sounds like Demon! But you look more like a cloud to me, mister!"
Really, he did! Besides those sharp looking marks on his shoulder an' stuff. Trotting forwards, the cub nuzzled against his leg and let out a rough, rusty purr.
"You're soft like on too!"

"Siri," he said, it was a nice name, he was merely playing it off his tongue. It was different from what he was used to hearing, though, he wasn't really used to hearing anything really. He flicked his tail and blinked when she said his name sounded like 'demon,' he really never knew why he was named Daemon. He figured his father might have had something to do with it.
"A cloud?" Daemon said, rather...shocked at the comparison of him to a cloud. What was with others calling him a cloud?! He wasn't fluffy and soft and nice all the time. He huffed in his mind, and almost flinched away when Siri began to rub against his leg.
Well...this was rather awkward.

"Yeah! A cloud! A nice, fluffy white big chunk of the sky." Siri beamed up at the lion. "Of course... clouds can be not-so-nice too, sometimes." She wrinkled her small nose and sat back in the grass, inspecting her tail tip. It was snarled again!
"You know," She continued, clawing at her tail, "when it gets all stormy and dang'rous outside! Mama won't let me play in the thunder. She says I'll get struck by -lightening-."
The tiny cub rolled onto her back, tail still firmly held between her front two paws. Her gaze flitted up to the white male above her and she smiled. "Do you get mean too, Mr. Daemon? You seem so nice!"

Daemon tilted his head at her. Well, playing outside during thunder wasn't the best of ideas, so he was glad her mother made sure to keep an eye on here. Lightning struck cubs would not be a good thing, not at all. Though the cloud reference still bugged him, though he was in the presence of a child, he had to remind himself of that a lot.
"Mean?" well, what was he supposed to say? "If someone ever came near my friends, or those I care about, and wanted to hurt them, I'd be mean and protect them, if thats what you mean Siri."

Siri shook her head, her small nose wrinkling in consternation.
"Naw, that's not being -mean-! Tha's just... protectin'. My Mama and Daddy would do the same thing, and they aren't mean!" The cub protested firmly, shaking her head. Her peered at the lion critically. "I think you'd be good at protectin', just like m' Daddy! You're big n' strong, huh?"
Suddenly an idea struck her. Rolling over, the cub scrambled to her feet. "Hey! Hey! I bet you're REAL good at hunting!" She eyed him and grinned. "You think you'd teach me how to hunt?"
Wow! Mama would be so suprised if SHE brought dinner home tonight!

Daemon offered Siri a smile from his maw, the way she spoke with some words cut off was...amusing, to say the least. He couldn't ever remember a time when he spoke like that, perhaps he had been too strict with himself as a cub...he'd have to remember to not be that way with a family in the future, if he ended up having one of course.
Not to say he didn't want one...he did though, he rarely admitted it, even to himself.
"Hunt? I hunt yes though, you're a bit small Siri, no offense of course...though when you get a bit bigger, if you wanted, and your parents agreed, I could teach you a thing or two." He wanted her to be a bit older before he did anythin, and he wanted her to have her parents permission.

"Awww, maaaaan." Siri wrinkled her purple nose and squinched her eyes shut. "That's what eeeeveryone says."
Too small. Too young. Too purple. Too WHATEVER! She was tired of it. There had to be -something- she could do! After all, she had to learn in order to get older and stronger and be someone! She couldn't just sit around and wait to get big. That's right. She had to do something.
"Can you teach me somthin', Mr.Daemon?" She pleaded. Siri scrambled to her feet and sat up as tall as she could, ears perked and tail whipping in the tall grass. "I wanna learn somethin' from you! Cuz then I'll remember you forever, and maybe you'll 'member me!"
Maybe... maybe he could teach her to swim? Or... how to sneak around in the grass! Yeah! Or just how to be cool. Cuz he was sure cool! And she had a feeling you had to learn that.

What could he teach her that would benefit her AND she wouldn't get in trouble for doing, and wouldn't be dangerous? Well, that ruled out a lot of things like hunting, swimming, climbing...wow, he hadn't thought of how dangerous some things could be compared to others. Though he had a feeling if he said he couldn't, and tried to walk away, Siri would follow him around until he gave in.
Though...it was kind of cute that she wanted to be remembered, wanted to remember others.
"Alright, lets see...have you ever tried sneaking and pouncing? They are the basics to help you get ready for hunting, and, you can do it with your family as well...want to do that?"
He hoped she would, he couldn't think of anything else to do really.
